Wow... that texture is just... delicious! I love it! how did you make it?
Oh... and what materials do you use?

She is sculpted with polymer clay. The skin is then painted with white genesis heat set oil paints leaving some skin showing through. Hair is koolaid dyed wool roving. hand painted leather and gauze dress, Cellophane and wire wings.

Right! I'm gonna try polymer clay! I'll most likely fail in my attempt... but it shall be fun! And I will learn! Your skill is so vast... *sighs in admiration*
If you have time... could you tell me what you would make if you were given the topic 'The head within'? Its my current art project and it has to be 3d. I Really have no clue in what I should create....

It is fun and you learn very quickly when you enjoy something.
I supose a head that had broken/open areas and a tiny head inside or onionon layers... it is the most literal way to show that. Or a bust with a figure on the shoulder talking into the ear. Even and eye with face in the Pupil. A mechnical peice could be interesting like an android with a slide out memory bank.

She was only slightly darker than I wanted her not a terrible burn.
Ive had those moments too. I made a merman that darkened so badly I had to bronze him.
The first time I got a toaster oven, I burned my baby so bad it was a black and bubbled up lump.

I got a convection oven and it has a timer that turns it off automaticly. So no more burnt babies for me!
You should get one. I adore mine! You can find em on ebay for uner 100.

I burnt at least three. Either from forgeting or spiking of the oven.
Another nice thing about the convection is its a small space you heat up instead of a big oven wasting fuel. the convection is more energy efficient.

Photos are stinkers!
But you are an amazing sculptress and no photo could hide that fact.

Thank you very kind.
As you know being a sculptor/dollartist you have to wear alot of hats! Sculptor, hairstylist, painter, seamstress, prob maker, photographer. My photos have never been too great. No excuse really except that by the time I do all the art Im burnt out to do the photos up right. I need to retire my dogeared black card backdrop for a fresh one.

Bad photos are my thing.
It's true. By the time I'm finally get done with the doll the last thing I want to do is labor over the photos.
However, with your sculpts, you could stick them in the privy and your talent would still glow.

You too huh? Your photos looked pretty good to me though. Thanks for kind words. I have her on e-bay now if you want to see more bad photos and closeups. She seems to be doing pretty well despite aweful pictures.
