Hauntingly beautiful (And I mean that in the best way!)
I love all the little details like her subtle eyebrows and long eyelashes
Your work amazes me

Your work is beautiful and haunting. I am working on a submission to the contest this piece inspired, hopefully I can do it justice!
I would be very interested in seeing your process

Yes! I've dabbled in polymer clay, but never really took to it. I'd like to see how you approach the sculpture from the ground up

It starts with a wire armature and aluminum foil core. That is wrapped with masking tape and clay is built up over it. Polymer is a dirt magnet so ,you have to be fastidious with your hands and keeping it covered from lint.
Then you bake it in your oven. After assuming it came out okay you sand it smooth ,paint and glue on hair etc.

I am not like the rest of the flock of males. I grew up with 5 sisters and no brothers.I always protected them. So I feel like I can have a somewhat feminine perspective from the inside of this 250 lb serial killers body...it's only skin. That was probably too much info but thank you again Nita and take care.

I like you more already. I can tell from the soul in person. Im not fooled by skin.

5 sisters I bet that was interesting! Im sure it could give you sometimes horrible insider view of women. Even with brothers Im willing to bet youd be the protector. I say that because I have no siblings but, have strong defender instinct.

Besides I believe a man has his Anima side. All the primal emotions may be boxed in and controlled by social confines but, they are still there.

And I hope I can express things of interest to men on a deep level. Even though my figures are dangerously close to being dolls.

You completely express things of interest on a very deep level from my point of view. They aren't hollow little trinkets. Your pieces have a pulse. Some artists (like myself) try to capture a moment or try to portray a feeling but you somehow have actually conveyed the entire being. Not just a day in it's life but the actual life.

Thank you! Others have said so. Im a depressive type so usualy they arnt joyous. But I dont think of them as sad just solemn and wizened. I dont even pick an emotion I channel what they want to express.

Even though they are portrayed as children they arnt really. They are warriors, gaurdians, seers, saints , martyrs , advisors.Sometimes they are ferals ,orphans, thieves, waifs but still hide their potency somewhere.

I construct some story elements as I go and some worlds Ive had in my head for years and they fit into them.

Well I love them. You do beautiful work as you already know.

I am bipolar so sometimes mine aren't joyous either and other times they won't stop laughing.

looking forward to more of your work. I need to get some money together and head over to get some or your creations...I lean more towards your "ferals ,orphans, thieves,waifs"...but I enjoy them all

Take care my friend

Oh well I understand.Doc told me I might be borderline bipolar. Not sure how that works.

Well you should. probably my work will go up in price not down. Good theres plenty more of that !

This is so bizarrely gorgeous <3 If I had 350, I will buy it. I really want to own one of your pieces but as an art student, anything over 200 is out of my price range right now. Do you make necklaces?

Aw thanks I did make some pendants but, I ended up selling them before I listed. Im not that great at making jewelry so I just make componants.I have something you might like...its small a pendant with a face on it. Ill put a photo of it up.

What is inaccurate about this shot?
The sculpting is amazing as always. You are an effects master. The piece is moving and evokes reaction. Aside from the beautiful craftsmanship this piece is really gross. I am looking for the maggots...The skin looks like melting flesh. The flesh looks so real I would be afraid to touch it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sleetwealth In reply to LindaJaneThomas [2009-07-18 06:14:41 +0000 UTC]

Her skin looks bluer here than it realy is. Its blue reflections from the sky.

hehe well she isnt a zombie or rotten .. Ill save maggots for later. She just has repeated burn scars. Once you get used to a child like that you begin only to see her beauty.
Do you know when you put strong cosmetic acid on your skin you get whats called a "frost" where the skin turns white. I think her skin looks like that!

LindaJaneThomas In reply to Sleetwealth [2009-07-18 11:18:14 +0000 UTC]

You are right about the beauty. When I was a little girl I had an auntie that had burn scars everywhere. I remember sitting on her lap thinking about how beautiful and colorful the designs on her face were...

They are beautiful designs. Like clouds and moving water and rocks.
And its amazing that we heal! two things make everything it touches beautiful.light and love. Corny huh,but true

Its called a chemical peel. Ive never tried it. sounds scary especialy the word "frosting" in connection to your skin... but , Ive heard that it removes scars ,discoloration , wrinkles etc.
