fresh faces!! this littluns are kovu and kiara's cubs, twin girls named jua (meaning "sun") and mwezi (meaning "moon").

i tend to see a lot (not all, just a lot) of kxk kid designs where they all look either fully outlander or fully pridelander. so i tried to mix the two so you could see almost equal parts in them. as you can probably tell, they both have features inherited from their more...problematic ancestors. the pridelands enter a new age of acceptance with the outlanders living there, so rather than being wary by seeing scar and zira in the cubs, they view them as signs of beauty and strength. (more lore to come).

in jua, you can see a small amount of mufasa that kiara inherited but for the most part, strongly reflects her ol dad from when he was a cub (dark eye-rings, cheek fluff, boxy muzzle, nose shape, etc.) while also sporting her mom's, grandpa's, and great-grandpa's golden coat and pink nose. she also has the same scruff simba had as a cub! she gets her head stripe from her paternal grandma but no one dares give her shit about it; kovu and vitani can send some mean looks. i meant to give her nala's eye color but it could also be kovu's! i like both

mwezi also has same features of kovu's that her sister has, minus the dark eye-rings and cheek fluff, trading those for her dad's dark reddish coat and dark nose. you could argue she looks the most like kovu but the cheek shape, ear rings, and brighter eye-rings are all her mom's. as a bonus, she's inherited something kion also got from scar: the naturally slicked back hairstyle. and the red eyes? you decide which side that comes from hehe

both girls share their dad's distinct outlander grin, with mwezi having a crookedness to hers that mimics her aunty vitani.

jua is very outgoing and cheerful, eager to tussle and play, as well as tease her sister. she's the older of the two, making her the new heir.

mwezi is the calmer of the two, balancing her sister out when she gets too riled up, being the younger twin, she's set to inherit the role of leader of the lion guard from her beloved aunt.

the two are closer than any two cubs have ever been in the pridelands and are more excited than anything in the world to work together to protect the pridelands in the future.
