I like the IDEA that you've got going on, but the selection of color and the way the armor is designed is much too.... and please don't take this the wrong way... "fruity"
It seems like manga is trying to take that which is corny beyond belief and make it all cool.
If you're going to make armor, look up different types of armor on google images and use it as a reference, work with real life.
I know that you might be shooting for NOT having reality in that it's fantasy. In that case, modify a real type of suit of armor to fit into a fantasy world.
If you're strictly and ONLY working for FANTASY and no sense of realism, then people lose their ability to relate with your artwork.
Also, I know that Link has long hair, but giving him huge bangs and such a thin waist makes him look girly. And the silver parts on his arms and legs and the dark green area on his stomach look like legging... so it comes off as... gay... as though Link is cross dressing.
BUT, with that said, I like how you've taken your sketch's brush strokes, turned them blue, made them bigger and offset it from the main picture.
I think the placement of things in this picture is well done, but I think you have the skill to pull the picture off much better.

The armor looks awesome. But the sword is pretty messed up. Oh and if you'd drawn the cape longer, like only a bit above ground, the whole picture would look even cooler

Ugh, never listen to such stuck up fans again, they ruin the whole concept of fanart. I mean come on, it is THERE to show variations of the original character. Otherwise you could just scan in the original chara and violΓ‘ you've got a "drawing". Or draw it off exactly, then everyone would have the same pictures, brilliant

cool drawing. reminds me of a dream I had where I was a Hylian knight. you did a pretty good job. the sword could use a bit of work, but that's a difficult thing for me to draw too. the rest is better than what I could draw.
