Sweet! I can’t say I’ve seen any Belleza cosplay until now.

You have a KILLER figure. This is amazing!

At least I THINK I was wearing one...I usually do for her because of the cincher...

Thanks. ^_^'

However, I AM wearing a body-shaper there though. I used to do martial arts a lot and had a better figure a few years ago, but having no job during that time I had to give up and I...well...went lazy. I need to tone up again.

Skies of Arcadia cosplay?!

...think I'm in love. <3

In all seriousness, though, that's a great costume. It's great to see some love given to a lesser-known gem.

Thank you very much! ^_^

I wore this costume last year at London MCM Expo, heh. I decided to wear her again on the Sunday of Ayacon this year, ^_^'
In all honesty, a friend's mum put the bolero jacket, cincher and leg guards together as she's a seamstress and I can't sew to save my life yet! I did most of the detailing and the tassels though, and my friend helped too.

I prefer to do my costumes myself, but unfortunately this wouldn't have happened without this friend's mum.

I know how you feel; my mom's the one in my family who can sew, so I end up going to her for costumes I can't manage with thrift store clothes. XP

Did you have any fellow SoA people, or were you going solo on the open...seas/air?

If you go on to my gallery there's an album for Skies of Arcadia. I had a small group last October with Aika, Fina and on the Saturday, a Ramirez too.
I was on my own with that costume at Ayacon though.

Regarding making my own costumes, if it's clothing then I tend to heavily modify existing garments, or if it's a belt I'll make it out of fake leather which is fine. Otherwise I'm best at armour and props. My dad has made a few swords for me out of wood, but I've been the one to decorate them. I try to do as much of the work myself as possible though.

*nods* Always a great sense of satisfaction of making one's own parts of cosplay. My artistic side screams in ecstacy. XP

I might have to ask you for tips on armor, too, haha. Hoping to put together Terra's armor from Birth by Sleep for next year.

I must say it's a long-winded process in how I make armour, but as a result it's durable. I can hit it hard and it won't dent. The most I've had to do to my armour after wearing it is cosmetic. Some small parts bend or get split open but it's not much trouble to seal it back up, paint over and re-varnish.

A lot of people shape foam and cover it with something shiny like styrene or the like. I've held and touched armour like that and I'm surprise it doesn't break in transit. As a result, mine ends up heavier, but it wears well.

Sadly, that's probably closer to what I'll be using. I've looked up tutorials on making armor with cardboard and craft foams, as they might be the best choices I can make without breaking the bank. Needless to say, I wouldn't be running around in it too too much.

Corrugated card sandwiched between normal card - you can shape it better. Craft foam over the top stuck down with cheap upholstery spray glue. Tape edges down with gaffer/duct tape. Add embossed/raised detailing before or after papiermache but still cover the detailing with the paper if you put it on after. Cover it all in wall/tile grout, and sand smooth when dry. This gets rid of dents and lumps etc. Primer (or not). Paint with mixed up acrylics (some are thicker and some thinner, so I combine them). Then, paint or spray clear gloss varnish over the top.

That's my cheap and durable method.

Alright, I will definitely jot that down. If I get this right, I will definitely show you how it comes out. XD
