BAAAW I'm sorry SARIA!! I've neglected my fav zelda character over Link for all these years!Let me shine a little sense on this baw fest. Link X Saria used to be my first video game OTP over Tifa X Cloud. I used to HAAATE and I MEAAN RAGE Β over the couple Zelda X Link. I hated it :v...I mean obviously I don't now but back then I used to draw Saria and Link all the time wither it be 80 % together or most of the time them solo. I made videos of them together on youtube...i made saria's best friend, the infamous video of toybox's song with Saria and Link, I FRiggin fanfic'd them when i found out what fanfic was( Btw dun read that story , bro :I) and as long as there was paper and something usable for drawing BY LORD I'D DRAW THAT SHIT
Now don't get me wrong I still love Saria X Link but over the years , now I favor kinda Link X Zelda although I admit at times it gets to be overwhelming and shoved in our face...I can't really forgot my first Link pairing ;u;

Um...how do weddings work in Hyrule? Link could marry all of them, maybe, so nobody gets left out. If not, then DANGIT NINTENDO, INVENT A LINK CLONING MACHINE NOW!!!
Saria is my favorite in ocarina of time. She also has the most reason in that game too, to be link's beloved. She was the only one before his journey began that was nice to him. Everyone else bullied him for not being a kokiri. She always defended him. If not for the monsters that captured her, she would have waited there for him, ready to reunite with him, to love him.

I've never played ocarina of time, as i never had the console. But i've got to admit that, up until SS, i had thought that Link x Zelda was kinda rediculous... Neither of them really have any personality, with Link havint to be malleable enough to be well played by anyone, and Zelda as just a traditional soppy maiden.
But in SS Zelda was epic. She goes heroing herself, and is rather badass, so now i think that she's pretty damn epic.

Personally, i've never thatught of Link and Zelda having any sort of connection outside the hero/hostige (typo?) role, simply because, A, Link's already has some emotional connection with another female character, e.g. Saria, Midna, Illia, etc and B, whenever they've met Zelda's had about as much personality as a spoon, without making and real connection to him, apart from in Windwaker when she HAD a personality (... Then discovered who she was and LOST said personality).
With Ocarina of time being the first Zelda game i ever played, as with a lot of people who grew up in the mid 90's, when i first loaded it up on the N64 and exited that iconic treehouse of Link's, seeing Link's lifelong friend and speaking to her for the first time you can just tell there was SOMETHING there, now pegging her as a good candidate for link's future love life, then, as you progress through the game, the programmers seem to be rubbing it in, firstly, that she would never grow up, so it wouldn't work, and secondly, making it so they couldn't even exist in the same world, further hamering it in that anything between these two would never happen, dispite her being a much better match for the hero of time than the cardboard cut out princess, who the programmers seem insistant on pairing him with.
... No offence to Zelda/Link sippers, but it's kinda true...

HOLY BALLS...you're argument is actually pretty valid and true.....e.e I mean I like Zelda and link but i will admit they're not the most vivid and colorful pairing in zelda. You're most certainly right about the game rubbing the saria never growing up and her becoming a sage to didn't help so it made me like link and saria more back then because they were really close and cared for each other , the fact they couldn't be together only made me like them more because i wanted to give em a happy ending and loved the tragicness of their bitter sweet relationship. As for Zelda's personality i mean idk what to think i mean i suppose she's the more elegant and refined type of princess who's serious and such and compared to the other girls you're right she lacks personality i'll give you that......I really loved them in skyward sword because zelda had personality and like you said in wind waker to but you kinda opened my eyes ot the twilight princess zelda x link and ocarina x link....he was kinda thrust into being a hero and kidna did it to save hyrule but i could you not the manga makes it out to be its for zelda :v Plus i blame mario because him and peach people assume link has to pair off with zelda and i mean i hated zelda at first and like you ocarina was my first game and i shipped saria x link hardcore and malon x link in second but for some reason it wasnt until near twilight i accepted then as a couple. I guess what in trying to say is you kinda opened my eyes up, as cute and appealing and popular and i mean popular zelink is im seriously not loving it as much as i used to know since everyone is so obsessed with it and compared to alot of the other girls im kinda changing my mind with zelda and link....
