I think you'll find the drawing style of fairy tail quite similar to that of One Piece later. The author of Fairy Tail was an apprentice of Oda for a while, you see.
And I also mistook it as Fairy TaLE in the beginning, oddly enogh it's Fairy Tail though XD

You should really start reading (I got the impression that you're not nowdays) it again and start watching it again. It's the most beautiful and precious series there'll ever be!
