Description The stairs lead both under the water and out of the water. It all depends on which direction you choose to take them. Submerge yourself or pull yourself up into the light...it's all up to you.

Such is life.

Taken on the island of Bonaire.

Thanks! As for the print, I'm not sure how much a print account costs, and, well, I don't have a credit card anyway. Maybe some day...

I love it. It's like it's drawing you into the water and the fact the steps are mostly wet adds a great effect. Wonderful color.

Thanks. Come to think of it, I think that these steps were always a little bit wet whenever I saw them. Must have been because of all of the snorkelers using them all day long.

Thank you! It was like stepping into another world, going into the water from those stairs. The transition from dry, arid land into a weightless world teeming with coral and fish life was amazing, if a bit overwhelming. Glad you liked the shot.

This is a spot where I could just relax every muscle in my body and just fall off the steps into the comforting waters...mmm. They just wash your worries away for a moment's time, don't they? Anyway, I love the shot. I don't think I could have taken this shot without damaging my camera by jumping in immediately after I shot it.

Slivers-of-Sanity In reply to roxya1 [2004-07-12 00:47:45 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, they definitely do. I was reluctant to get out of the water almost every single time I went in because it was just so relaxing...even though there were barracuda swimming nearby. O.O; I'm happy that you like it!

Haha, one of the times my family persuaded me to go diving in the Carribbean, this barracuda kept following me for some odd reason...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Slivers-of-Sanity In reply to roxya1 [2004-07-12 01:08:11 +0000 UTC]

Did you have something shiny on you? They love shiny things because they look like their prey. I had my fair share of barracuda follow me, too. I just didn't swim over them because I was afraid that they'd attack my belly. There's not too much you can do if one follows you except be careful not to make it angry.

Slivers-of-Sanity In reply to FLeaBaLL [2004-07-07 17:52:13 +0000 UTC]

I think I should just get a robotic right arm with a camera for a hand. That way, I'd ALWAYS have the camera on me.

Most good digital cameras (over 3.2 megapixels) cost over $300. I'd have to get you a Fushigi Yugi box set and fifty boxes of Pocky to equal that. *lol* Why bother when I can get one from my own mother with a five-finger discount?

I dunno why the places you went weren't as pretty (I have no clue where you went)...but don't pout, save up some money and go to places like that when you're old and have nothing better to do. It was so gorgeous there (the water was, at least) that I'm thinking of going there when I'm old and scuba diving. There were so many old people there who were certified divers, it was somewhat scary. O.O;
