Description Approaching three weeks since my last render. I've been in a huge funk since AI has been taking the world by storm. But like Ryan (AKA Splatterbaby in the Daz3D gallery) and many others have said... it's here and it's not going away. We need to just embrace it and see it as a tool rather than a replacement.

My depression/frustration is that it takes AI seconds to produce several versions of a thought you typed into a prompt. No true artistic work was done or endeavor on the end users part from my viewpoint plus it took seconds. So to "embrace it" as Ryan suggested, I installed Stable Diffusion (SD) locally on my box and have been playing with it for nearly that whole time trying to find a middle ground.

I think the image presented here tries to strike a balance between Daz3D, AI and postwork. I have taken John and Madeline Daz3D renders, that some might recognize, and converted them through SD to represent both characters you see in the final image. They look like a real actor and actress are playing the part of the two which is kind of an interesting perspective.

The tunnel and creature in the background is a straight render from Daz Studio. The planet and colors are from SD while the debris/stars is Ron's Sparks and Embers plugin used in Affinity Photo not Photoshop.

NOTES:Here is a sample image of the "input" used in SD and the output for both characters to hopefully help others understand how it works and what AI did. Truthfully I made about 50 versions of each character before deciding on the two I did. SD and AI in general gets little things off like cross-eyed or both eyes looking in two different directions requiring a little editing. Fingers, if they were in the scene, are often mutilated or have additional fingers.
