Description Rangers Ellen and Ricardo went on a night time walkabout patrol of Rock Garden during a fluke winter storm which dumped seven inches of snow on Alcoa Tennessee in about six hours. They wore heavy clothing to brace against driving snow and arctic cold. This picture shows the empty lot between the House of Blue Flowers and the Millennium Manor.

Was there a house there before? Β I see steps and it is a beautiful lot for a house.

Yes. Long ago, a house stood here, but it was destroyed after condemnation. The home, like many others on this street, was owned by the Aluminum Company of America. They deemed it cheaper to tear it down than keep it up. Now, the lot sits permanently vacant, a welcome state of affairs in a small town where homes are close together. Here in Rock Garden, we still have space!

I used to live in the city of Erie where I could look out my kitchen window and see into my neighbor's kitchen. Β Now, our house sits on almost an acre so there is lots of room between us and our neighbors. Β

Now if only I could convince my two married daughters and their spouses to move with us. Β I don't think I could tear myself away from my two grandsons. Β
