Description The Forth Road Bridge at night, quite a short exposure (10 seconds). Colour channels rotated in channel mixer, basically an invert but without switching light and dark.

Prints will be available from riot.dpcprints.com as usual once the contest it's in ends.

This is so striking that it stood out to me from the rest of your images in your gallery. The choice of color is perfect, creating a haunting, lonely mood to which I am inexplicably drawn. Beautiful work!

Wow, i've not been called inspirational before I notice you also live in scotland, anywhere near the bridges? I find they're always a challenging subject no matter how many times i come back.

I live over on the west coast in Greenock - I intend to give Erskine Bridge a 'go' which is about 15 miles from where I am, but I reackon I'll struggle to get above it and still be close enough as I don't have a telephoto lens yet assuming that would help me - any tips?

Well this was shot at 100mm to get quite a tight crop, i've shot the bridge as wide as 18mm from the same place though... you just have to experiment. Generally getting a longer focal length will compress the perspective better, which is useful for long bridges or buildings like this. Just experiment
