Oh and good luck with the new program. I've switched to clip studio a while ago and got slowly used to the brushes. The oil brushes and stabilized tools sold it for me. I miss some powerful things from photoshop but they weren't that central to my new focus.

I'm not sure I'll ever be able to get away from Photoshop entirely. I think I may have become dependent on some of its tools, for sure. But this is a nice change when it comes to painting - especially for broader strokes, which I need to really get better at.

Which tools in particular are you very attached to?

There aren't adjustment layers in PSS? then? I admit I like them a lot too. The main thing I miss while using clip studio are the special blending option (glow, drop shadow etc) but it's not that annoying. I like the ability to paint with the trasparency or selection and the transform usable on several layers at once mostly.
I haven't seen anything like burn/doge though, nor the option to use a blending mode directly at the brush level instead of the layer. Clip studio is said to be less resource intensive than photoshop too, but with my latest artwork I couldn't rise up to my expected resolution, with too many layers :/

Not that I've seen yet. A LOT of the same stuff from Photoshop is there, so they're getting there. Adjustment layers is apparently on their "to do" list, and I hope that free transform is on there, too. I use warp a LOOOOT more than I realized, apparently.
I would definitely be missing layer styles (color overlay, drop shadow, outer glow) if I was doing more graphic-design-y type work in this program, but since I'm painting I don't use the as much. I believe there's a burn/dodge in Paintstorm, but I don't really ever use those.
I really think it has the potential to eventually replace Photoshop for me, with a few more options. We shall see!
It has a few features that seem really useful for landscapes that I haven't had a chance to try yet. You put in the perspective somehow and then it changes the brush size based on that perspective. So when you're painting the grass close up it's larger than when you paint it further back toward the horizon line. Fun feature.

This perspective tool seems quite neat! I do most of it by freehand, and painting on a flat plane that is then put in perspective has an artificial wibe to it. (like I did in
)

Yeah, I usually do it manually, too. No idea how well this tool will work, we shall see. Haven't used it on a landscape yet!

Thanks again for the input. I should maybe have done this, and to be honest I was kinda dissapointed by this artwork reception (when I compare it to my older works). It could be the case I really miss important eye giding clues. I'll try to do something more interesting with the lighting of the next one. I kinda want to try the backlight aura style but it would be weird with gold reflecting light in front of us at the same time. I'll have to pick one of the two...

Sometimes reception is just not what you think it'll be, too. So who knows. I've really liked some of my paintings that I post only to have them not received as well as I'd thought. But who knows!
