Castiel from Supernatural.Just finished watching Season 8 as of last night. So much feels, and looking forward to Season 9 starting soon.
This painting took quite a long time to complete, and I really wanted to try my best with this one, specially the background. The screencap that I referenced this came from Season 6.20 The man who would be king, where Castiel sits in the garden of heaven, which looked nice, but quite artificial... I wanted to make the surroundings look more natural, which I thought would carry the feelings a bit better.
Anyway.. trees were much harder than I thought without using the foliage brushes, but I'm quite proud of the painterly effect I got. For the grass though, I used a bit of texture overlay to make it look more interesting.

It did take many many hours.. specially drawing the trees and leaves, which is not my strong point.. I am glad of the results and that I persevered.

You did such an incredible job! I don't even know where to begin! I love everything about this! The lighting... How do you even...? The background is so detailed and beautifully done but doesn't distract from the foreground which is a real achievement in itself. You always manage to create such an intense atmosphere with your composition, choice of colors and the lighting. And now I could go on and on and on. :'D It's perfect!
