I just got to know about the treasure from my Dad, recently after close to two years of using the G7. Haha!

What lens do u want... primes are great, I have a crazy 20mm and I love it.. and a funky 60mm also, so amazingly sharp

Ah the 400D is a good camera.
Yea the 50mm 1.8 is the way to go, its a fantasticly flexable lens with out standing lowlight and sharpness, and its cheep 
however if your feeling particularly insane, the 50m 1.4 ... but the price will make you fall over and scream
Any advice i can offer, please ask.... I'm all Canon here

Canon have a massive range of lenses though I admit, most of them are fairly heavily priced, which is sad, but worth saving for sometimes... there are so many comments about which lenses to buy etc etc.. but in the end it all comes down to your own personal style as to what you buy...
