I never read Twilight and never will. It totally destroyed my ability to like any vampire-based story for a good few years, but then I read this series called Cirque Du Freak and liked some forms of vamp fiction. But I will not ever read Twilight. It just flat out killed the vampire craz, but it DID lead to vampire-HUNTER fiction for those who hate vamps.
I've ALWAYS liked vampire hunters and recently began to like dhampires(the offspring of a human and vampire; a half-breed) like Vampire Hunter D or Alucard from Casltevania.
The Lunar Knights game actually started my Vampire Hunter liking and will always be in my top favorites, no matter what!

I've read all the Twilight books simply to know what people are talking about (and to know why, exactly, I should dislike them). I hadn't actually read any vampire stories before that, and even now I don't read it, so I'm not sure what the current trends are.
Lunar Knights is actually my favorite vampire-related... anything, I guess. I recommend it to every gamer I meet.

The only problem I have with Twilight is that the rabid fans make watching TV award shows not fun anymore as anything with Twilight always wins (to the point where Edward/Bella somehow beat girl/girl action o.0), Bella is a lovesick twit, and the sparkly "vampire" thing (face it, Edward's not a vampire, he's a fricken *fairy*).
That aside, I wholeheartedly agree with this comic. ^-^

I agree that the sudden popularization of vampires is self-defeating. I read the first Twilight. I was okay. just okay. Teen angst with vampires that are sparkly was only slightly original. Now it seems to be a phenomenon.
The worst part is that it's a large enough book that people who read it and obsess over it think they've become extremely intelligent in vampire mythology. It makes me want to kick puppies.
Thank you for the comic. It shows what many of us think.

NO NOT THE PUPPIES! But I feel your pain. I think the author just took the name 'vampire' and the blood sucking thing, and created a different creature in its place.

Which isn't all that different than what Brahm Stoker first did. He made all of it up; the stakes, the trouble with garlic, everything made up to fit the "Dracula" character and story he created.
On a side note, vampires didn't burn in the sun until years after "Dracula" was written. That weakness was popularized by a movie about Nosferatu. I think, my memories are a bit foggy on that aspect.

To play the devil's advocate, the impossibly beautiful shiny-ness of vampires is a clever look at the old superstition. Buts sparkles are the only new thing Twilight has brought to the legends.
It doesn't really warrant the rabid love/hate it seems to have garnered.

I only like the actor making of Edward Cullen. I don't like him at all.
But this comic is the smex. Ursula FTW!

I understand your pain. *nod nod* But if all the Twilight fangirls were addicted to something else, then that something else will become annoying. I leave them alone so I don't have to rip their throats out to get them to shut the fish up.
