Hag ('hag): A female demon, often in the form of an old or ugly human woman. In true form, they are rather handsome young women dressed all in mourning black with the stars shimmering all along. Although often cruel to humans, hags are very sociable among the other faery folk, although their sinister sense of humor is rarely the life of the party.
Also called banshees, sidhses, woman-at-ford, sirens and ghouls, hags' traits include a love of shallow, running water, and an unearthly voice. Their voices are used both for alluring song and the most terrifying of screams that are heard only at sunrise.
