are you happy or sad? (assuming it's you)
you look like you might be about to cry! but on the other hand... you look like you're half-smirking about something!
*sits and stares and tries to figure it all out* i'm not very good at interpreting poses

Really simple and just great. I love the focus, the off centered position. Great work and

oooh i like your hair haha. this is a cool picture i like how you are on the far right and only shows half of your face. i think this would be alot better if you had a plain color as the backround maybe. the cds in the backround seem strange but i'm not sure.

that is sweet as. he's a cheeky lookin fella. haha.

although, i do like usin flashes for portraits, but then thats cos the only ones ive done have been in a studio with black backdrop when i was at college....*sigh*...

yeah though, love the muted colours, looks lazy man..

keep it up.

cheers gre.

yeah, flashes are nice, but i generally only use them for fashion photography - but most of my stuff is shot in a spontanious (sp) manner - and the flash always seems to make every photo look like i just couldn't afford a backdrop!

I'm not a fantastic photo critic, probably because I'm not a photographer, but I do think it just looks neat .. I can't really describe why - but I like it . The expression on his face is nice too.

beautiful portrait, i especially love your use of light and the composition here. great colours too btw, but i think this photograph will look better when you cut the empty space above his head.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

sm In reply to art-geeks [2005-01-24 01:15:57 +0000 UTC]

thanks the light is pretty much just one skylight and a window w/ a thin cotton blind - all the shots came out well in that room though - just good luck i guess.

you think i should crop it? maybe i will in the morning

thereΒ΄s something about not having depth of field when doing a portrait... it just makes it what it is, great composition also.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

sm In reply to terriblemar [2005-01-23 16:14:04 +0000 UTC]

yeah - it's usually because i have very little light and have to shoot at f/1.8 - i hate flashes!!!

but yeah, i think, if ur shooting a portrait, depth of field is never a good thing...
