Description I had an urge to build a motor cycle again but kept on thinking about this tracked vehicle I first started around 2009. Having always had a thing for old springer forks I thought I would slap a pair on the front and see how it looked. At the same time I had been looking at bikes from films like Mad Max and was thinking of a sort of rat bike/post appocolypse vibe - I was going to call it Desert Rat. Anyway, I found out that there is a new Long Earth book available which is a series I think is great and I got to thinking about the wandering female character, Sally Lindsey, in that series. This is not her but a similar character and like most of the stuff I do it just sort of developed and so the title didn't work for me anymore.

Motorcycle half track built and textured in Modo.
I have never done as much UV mapping and texturing on any model as I have this one. There are 3 seperate UV maps - Tracks, Engine and chassis and I hated doing every one because I simply hate creating UV's...... lets do that again, I simply HATE having to create UV's! Alternative pre textured render :
Comp is in Photoshop and I used the following:

Background landscape: www.deviantart.com/art/Sahara-…

Sky: part of an image I found in my own archive.

Planets and similar: www.deviantart.com/art/Dark-Or… This is a fabulous peice of work and downloads as a layered photoshop file allowing the use of the seperate elements. This is just so cool and the creator needs a pat on the back for making such a great resource available especially as it is a fine peice of art in its own right.

Girl: faestock.deviantart.com/art/Em… - lets face it, she is gorgeous from any angle

Just don't forget you are on a trike and put your feet down - those tracks running up the back of your legs will smart a bit

I like the concept.  Wonder what it would take to produce the tracks and slap'em on a trike.  BTW, where's her guns?

Ref Army Arctic testing in Alaska.
We had one back in 1973.
Wide tracks in rear and a balloon type front tire. To roll over tundra and soft ground.
German military had some as ammo carriers back WW2
Never caught on in our testing.
Who wanted to ride open at 40 below zero!
This was built I believe by Polaris they stopped it going more to the new snowmobile design.

Thank you.
I spent a great deal of time on this and frankly I was fed up of it by the time the textures were done
