Description Gloster Meteor prototype DG202/G
This Meteor is something special as she is the first built of eight prototypes. For some reason she has been transported to Cosford and, I believe, put in to storage which is bordering on the criminal for such an historic airframe.

Maybe they're doing some maintenance?

They are probably keeping her locked away out of public view so nobody discovers the alien technology used to produce her.

Just curious, but did you get any photos of the helicopter in the background of this photo? It looks pretty cool.

I can help you with that one as I snapped a few images of her the last time I was Hendon. She's a Sikorsky R-4 Hoverfly just in case you were wondering.

I was wondering what kind it is, actually. I am not passionate about aircraft or any other vehicles, but I love to see how machines are made, so thank you very much for the photos. I can just see the thought going through the design teams minds. "How do we get the landing gear on?" "What do we do about the wind screen?" "Should we have a cup holder?" Really cool!

Not purposely I didn't I'm afraid.
I'm not a big rotary wing fan which probably makes me some kind of freak

I'm going to pipe in here and say that if I'm honest it does... I can't claim that too many choppers make it into my favourite lists, but I wouldn't want to live in a world where the Bristol Sycamore didn't exist. There are some great looking machines among Britain's rotor history, even if many of them were American and built under license.

I have a soft spot for the Scout and Wessex but they kind of leave me cold for some, reason.
