This is certainly a mouthful of a read. Firstly, for anyone who wants to know where the title came from, please watch this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyQklH… . The video also contains some content and jokes that will appear on this completed picture (that way everyone understands) including where I got the idea for this.

So yeah, the title for the roster in question is in fact Super Smash Bros. Street Mortal Kombat Fighter vs. Marvel, DC, TV Stars and the New Testament. Hopefully to be released by 2050 . Now this is the way to settle it in Smash! With the release of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U, I've decided to put together a roster of characters (hundreds of them, some with palette swaps too! It also seems under certain conditions you could play as the hands...and polygon man too?). It definitely breaks a few rules when it comes to Smash Bros characters, and it does lean towards a lot of my biases such as characters from franchises that I know and have played the games of, movies that I've seen, and some just completely random characters (like Grumpy Cat! Yes, really, Grumpy Cat!), and some characters that no one wants on the roster.....so you get to beat the crap out of them. In construction of this giant roster, it really made me appreciate all the thought that comes into development of characters and the lack of homogenization that Smash has managed to avoid as it moves onto the 3DS and Wii U. As well, the video game world is way bigger than we give it credit for, and this will be represented by the characters who are on this roster. Way, way too big. This iteration probably wouldn't even be a smash bros game anymore.

If your favorite franchise/characters aren't on here, sorry about that. Also, I apologize in advance for having no Final Fantasy or Castlevania characters; I'm not that familiar enough with those franchises. At least Cloud made it. Also, if you're wondering why fighters like Kraid, Quadraxis, the T. Rex and Spinosaurus from Jurassic Park and Smaug are on this roster, it's so the "too big" argument gets even more ridiculous. And let's be true to ourselves here, wouldn't you want to play as Smaug and make your opponents BURN!?

**Update (December 16, 2015). The roster has been upgraded to version 4. A few characters have had their artwork changed and I've added 100(ish) new characters as DLC. Some I hope are favorites, while others I hope won't mind being punching bags (I'm losing at you Sticks and Monita).

Update (January 27, 2016) This is the final version where the roster is more organized and the DLC characters are added to the main selection rather than place them in their own area. Font was also changed from Grey to White. For now (a few months at least, there will be no more additions to the roster. The only thing I may do is change the artwork of a few characters or add some more alt. costumes. I'm happy it's finally organized.

So, who would you play as? I've thought of movesets for a majority of the characters, so feel free to ask and discuss how I think they could function.
