Oh, there's a bunch of information about convensions on the internet. Nearly - if not all - convensions have their own websites. This specific convension that I attended to and saw these cosplayers was 'Otakuthon' in Montreal, Canada. There's a bunch of convensions around the world, especially in America, I beleive.
You can google "anime convension 'insert your local area/an area not far from you'" if you want information. The best way to find out about convensions is to ask people. ^^
