I can't really find anything specific about the picture that grabs my attention, so I'm going to default to talking broad strokes about how the "New Lunar Republic" is a terrible idea. Luna is badly out of political practice, has mild anger management issues, has less-than-perfect control over a power that can end all life on the planet, and is her isolation from civilization for the last 1000 years means virtually every societal norm has changed from how she remembers them. Keeping the Celestia-Luna-duoarchy system is easily the safer bet
