I've never been one for big words, but if I had to describe the final season, I'd just say great. Really, it was better than I expected.

Let's be honest, I had problems with the previous seasons, especially with the previous two. The writers often had no idea what they wanted to tell us in some episodes, and sometimes even if they had a good idea, they screwed up during the implementation. It felt like they only realized that they need put together a consistent and thoughtful story, when they was very close to the end. And even then, they didn't always succeeded. The 9th season started quite strongly, they gave the whole premiere a well-structured story, which was also interesting and something that we hadn't been seen in a while. So I hoped that they wouldn't spoil what they had put together for the last parts. On the contrary, I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't just pull themselves together at the end, but the whole season, apart from a few weaker episodes, was very cohesive.

I felt that this time, the division of the last episodes was solved properly. Strangely, since sometimes they lingered a lot on a scene, but the flowing of the episode did not become uncomfortable. Great action scenes, lots of cameos, lots of familiar characters, yet you don't feel like they're interrupting the plot. I liked that. The final part was a bit forced with this futuristic time jump, without it, the final episodes would have worked just fine (or even better) but at least the last scene was a hit. So well played!
