Fan Suggestions:
I think maybe Entrap's evolution could either be based on Toxic Spikes (Steel-Poison) or Stealth Rock (Steel-Rock). The Toxic Spikes evolution will be called Entoxin or Caltoxin while having Poison Point or Merciless and learning Toxic, Toxic Spikes or Poison Jab. The Stealth Rock evolution will be called Lithentry or Lithazard while having Rough Skin or Adaptability and learning Stealth Rock, Stone Edge or Smack Down. Those are just my ideas though.

I like it, though.

I don't see how that's a problem when we have Electrode and Gloom Thanks!

For their evolution could you made a talent like this :
??? :Grants Priority to all entry hazard moves

I was actually thinking of that, but it seemed unlogical to me '^^

How about this? "Safety Hazard: The user automatically sets up Spikes when sent onto the field." It would, however, only work once per battle. I figure, Mimikyu gets a free Substitute, why not a free Spikes?

That is also a possibility I considered; since the evo will probably not be spiked, it might get that to replace Iron Barbs

Could evolve into a bear-trap inspired fakemon or alternatively a fire/steel type mine fakemon?

The only gripe I have is that 'entrap' itself is an actual word.

Personally, I would give it Turtonator's signature move (whatever it's called). That description of it being used in wars makes me think of using them as mines.

Oh my god.

Oh my god.

It's Spikes personified.

Please tell me its evolution isn't Stealth Rock personified.

Now this is one interesting idea. Just like how Eevee and Castform embrace the very concepts of evolution and weather respectively, here we have one who goes all for entry hazards. There just have to be relatives or a split evolution with Stealth Rocks and Toxic Spikes in mind. Actually while Steel/Rock ain't nuthin' new, there still is no Steel/Poison type out there. I find that fascinating since there are so many cool ideas that would come to mind with that type combination. Entrap here sure is an interesting start and I wonder what it might turn into when it evolves.

when entry hazards become pokemon, the world of pokemon just got scarier. specially if it is something related to those then i think it should evolve into the other forms like it can evolve into the rock form when in a rocky area like a desert, and the toxic spike evolution can be obtained by being near something like a swamp or an abandoned nuclear plant. something like that. or you can just make them separate versions of that pokemon. either way i think this idea is a good one lol

Nice Fakemon I'll do my competitive analysis for it since you did the moveset

Entrap is a decent Hazard setter able to set up Stealth Rock and both Spikes and Toxic Spikes and pick off opponents with Gyro Ball and Iron Head and and high base defense let's hit tank good physical hits. Unfortunately there are flaws first off its horrible base special defense and speed are exploitable and will be KOed by any super effective Special hit like Lucario's Focus Blast, Toxicroaks's Vacuum Wave and Nidoqueen's Earth Power and a low base hp means it won't be lasting long in battle and is vulnerable to Spikes damage.

Checks and Counters:

Residual Damage-Spikes will wear Entrap down and will leave it vulnerable to any special attack

Special Attackers-Infernape,Alakazam,Lucario, and Toxicroak are examples of threats to Entrap is they can one-shot it with any special move

Magnezone-Entrap can't touch Magnezone and will fall to a Thunderbolt another problem is that Magnezone will trap it with Magnet Pull

Heatran-Heatran is another problem is it can KO it with Magma Storm and Earth Power

Electric Types-Mega Manetric, Tapu Koko, Heatran, Magnezone, and Lucario are Steel types that are bothersome as they can KO it with their STAB or coverage moves. Mega Manetric and Magnezone are especially bothersome as Manetric has intimidate to lower Entrap's attack and can KO it with Thunderbolt or Flamethrower and Magnezone can trap it with Magnet Pull and KO it with Thunderbolt

Water Types-Manetine, Azumarill, Pelipper, Kingdra and Swampert fear nothing from Entrap and can KO it with their STAB attacks

Fire Types-Alolan Marowak, Mega Charizard Y, Heatran, Volcarona and Volcanion can force Entrap out with their STAB attacks

Team Options-Fighting types like Conkldurr and Machamp are good partners as they get rid of Steel types, Alolan Marowak can remove Electric and Steel type Threats

I hope you enjoy
