I think the sky is a wee bit to saturated, my The contrast is greatly improved in my opintion, well done.
Pentlands?

I think it would look better with more subtle 'dodging', as the overall photo looks too contrasty now. Definitely somewhere between the two!

I really like the original one.
HDR i think is very interesting because the meaning of having information in every part of the shot, and that could be apply in some style / series where experimenting with lights takes sense.

About landscape HDR, to be honest man, I really love your photos because it shows mystery, but the HRD maybe ride off that mystery by some good effects. Just being honest with you

I prefer the original, IΒ΄m not that much of a HDR fan. Colors donΒ΄t get better imo and clouds look too blue.
But how did you get the firsst shot ?

Smiling-Demon In reply to maratenn [2011-07-08 23:25:12 +0000 UTC]

Alright cheers mate. I got the shot by hiking into the highlands and then being there when it was clouded over and a bit grim (aka most of the year XD).

The clouds come out quite detailed and not blown out

That's cool, I think I would actually prefer somewhere in between the two, but this is mainly an exercise to see what everyone thinks.

I'm less worried about the shot itself (it being an old one), and more interested in what you think of the use of HDR, should I do it more? Or should I keep my post processing as I do now, and just do small colour fixes?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BennyBrand In reply to Smiling-Demon [2011-07-07 20:46:40 +0000 UTC]

i think your photos with "natural" colors look much better so keep up the post processing you've done before..
