Description Important things not included in the ref:

- Moto means 'fire' in Swahili.

- He is the older of two brothers, his littermate and technically younger brother Maji is almost always with him. They are super close to one another, having never known their parents, and are always together as cubs.

- Moto is generally the leader of almost anything that he does. He is bold and confident to the point of absolute arrogance, but his heart is in the right place. He puts on this show of being confident and infallable because, inside, he is a scared little cub and so he hides behind ego and bravado in an effort to avoid seeming weak in the eyes of strangers. When alone, his thoughts are not friendly. That is part of the reason why he is always with his brother, he does not want to be alone in any capacity and has severe abandonment issues.

- He boasts some scars on his face. He and Maji were swept up by the Kutii Sheria and had to fight to escape, and because Moto is the forward one and the better fighter, he sort of lead the way with Maji following him. So he was the one to gain all of the scars, Maji's scars were not from their fight to escape.

- Though they do not know this, both Moto and Maji were born in the Palelands. Their parents were young, chased out of their home pride in an effort to save space and resources. They settled on the edge of the crater that makes up the Pale Lands, unable to go further because the female was in labor. They had planned to go deeper into the crater to hopefully find the Palefall pride and join them, having heard of King Kuba and his kindness and mercy toward strangers, but the cubs came earlier than expected, so they hunkered down in a small cave for a little while, just biding their time until their cubs were strong enough to be moved. The Kutii Sheria found them first however.

- Their mom and dad were killed by the cult and they were kidnapped like so many other cubs, though they were so young at the time that now as cubs, they know nothing else, assuming they had always been part of the Kutii Sheria. But the cult was not a fun place to be, especially as males. Both Moto and Maji were kind of at the bottom of the pecking order and were treated horribly, beaten and abused into thinking that they must suffer because they are male. And boy do they suffer, Maji in particular. Moto had a tendency to fight back, he was wild and defensive and is a pretty big cub, strong and sturdy. It was difficult to do anything with him, but Maji has a more delicate constitution.

- When Moto finds out what the adult males had been doing to his brother, he immediately makes a plan to escape and wastes no time getting his brother out of there.

- They are found by the cult sometime later and in their desperate scramble to escape, the cubs literally fell back into the Pale Lands, literally tumbling down the mountainside and into the valley. They seek out the Palefall Pride for help and of course Kuba makes them part of the family. He and his pride immediately chase the cultists off and Kuba has no mercy for them when he sees the scars on Maji. The cubs are accepted immediately and tended to by the pride's healer.

- Unfortunately, Maji is terribly traumatized by what happened to him. He doesn't grow sad or destitute but instead grows intensely bitter and angry. He doesn't understand why all of this happened to him and Moto, not the sharpest tool in the shed, has no idea how to console his brother, so Maji quickly spirals into this spiteful hateful mindset and decides that he wants to go back to the Kutii Sheria. He thinks that as he gets older, he'll be more useful, more powerful and will be valued by the cult in a way that the Palefall Pride never will. Moto sees this change in his brother and it horrifies him and he seeks help from the pride but Maji makes his decision too quickly so he leaves to rejoin the cult and Moto goes with him out of pure love and loyalty, even though he deeply disagrees. He cannot, will not, abandon his brother so the two become antagonists, though in Moto's case it is against his will.

- Though the older of the two brothers, Moto is super childish and playful as a cub. He's very cheeky with a great sense of humor and a tendency to thumb his nose as authority. He and Maji are notorious for being wild, energetic pranksters who think they know everything. It's annoying to some of the adults in the pride, but only a bit. For the most part, they are just cubs being cubs and the adults just kind of... deal with them. Especially Moto as he is the instigator more often than not.

- He is a BIG cub, solid and muscular, pretty much fat in some ways. He is smaller than Maji in height but is like twice his brother's weight. He's an absolute unit. I tend to think about Mufasa when I draw him.

- He has round eyes and thick square black eyebrows. His muzzle is a little bulky, big and square with a large nose and a large square chin. He has a few spots in various places that disappear as he ages.

- Now you know me pretty well at this point. Of course his god damned claws are out, who do you think I am?

- For the sake of establishing a timeline, Moto and Maji are the same age as Kipaji and Kayode. They live in the Palelands as cubs, growing into teenagers, which is when they defect back over to the Kutii Sheria. They return as angry spiteful adults and, though I'm not sure if it is Maji and Moto who do this, the then elderly Kuba is killed in the cult's attack on the Palelands. This sparks the now adult Kayode to hunt them down and seek revenge, though he is able to forgive somewhat when Kipaji talks him down from this. Moto is able to return to the Palelands but he doesn't and instead becomes a sad starving rogue lion just wasting away in the Farlands. Maji, unable to forgive what happened to him and pissed about the Circle of Life, is killed when he insists on attacking and cannot be talked down. Moto puts him down in self defense.

- As always, he was based on an adoptable purchased here .

Nice little update for Moto. Simplified his face scars and re-wrote some of his story, obviously. But he's still the same fun loving rolly polly. I am really pleased with how this came out. Maji will be up shortly as well. Just gotta color him.
