Description ... There's something about being incredibly busy that makes me far more creative and productive. >.> Not really sure how my brain is wired.

Anyway - this is the God of Winter. I think he/she/it fits into the same universe as the character from the Down Through The Woods deviation, because they've got the same theme going on - but we'll see. He/she/it doesn't turn up in the ten-page comic I've got planned.

That thing on its forehead is insisting on being called The Heart of Winter in my head - nothing's really settled yet, though. I invented this character an hour ago.

... And yes, before you say it - I know I have a tendency to draw intimidating-looking creatures with boney features/skull-masks. It's just... how my brain is wired, I guess. I like scary-looking things with bone-faces/masks, just like I like birds and the colour green.

Thank you! He's developed a bit since - as you can see here and here as well - and one day, I'm hoping to come up with a coherent plot for the comic he's intended for.

Thank you! This is not the final design - I'm going to change some stuff, and maybe give him/it hands, but this is the basics of it.

As for what inspired it... Well. I love animal skulls, and I love large, mute, intimidating, looming creatures, so I guess that's where it comes from, but really, I just scribbled it in fifteen minutes, and looked at it afterwards and decided it was worth keeping. And now it's sort of growing in my head. We'll see where this goes.

Believe it or not, the resemblance IS a coincidence. I have seen Ashido before, but I didn't think of him at all while I drew this - I was imagining deer-skulls and the traditional costumes of the indigenous people of Sweden, but less colourful.

Oh, thank you very much! I have a fascination for masks and animal skulls, and since we've had at least a foot of snow here for the last three months, it just felt right that he look like this.

This is a great design- not a lot of details to clutter it up, but enough to give you the sense of feeling for the bone, the sewn-together skins, etc. Really like this- well done!

The prologue-comic-thing for this (featuring the lady in [link] ">this picture) is already planned out - I just need to draw it. After that, I'll keep building that world little by little.

*klapp klapp på huvet* Fy fan vad kul att du tycker om den - och ja, jag känner ett behov av att skulptera den. Om man bara hade tid så. Jag har lite Super Sculpy hemma, men jag vet inte om den fortfarande är okej - dessutom har jag inte skulpterat NÅGOT sen gymnasiet.

Men kanske - om jag kan hitta några lediga timmar någonstans.
