I don't know what love is
But I know the feeling when someone touches me and I don't freak out.
What it's like to get a good night text
And how it's important to me that some one else is worried too,
Because all I do is worry.
I can't say if love is real,
But I know I'll be up late at night
Unable to sleep,
And instead of a million different thoughts
There's just one face,
And suddenly insomnia isn't so bad.
I obsess over everything,
I'm told it's a compulsion
But even with all I'm compelled to do
With her it feels more like a choice
Whether it is or isn't is irrelevant;
Because it makes me happy.
I don't understand love, hell I don't even understand myself most times
I do know Pain is real,
It keeps me up at night,
It makes me think,
Because of it I push people away,
Love doesn't make the pain go away;
It makes it worth it.
Love isn't free of pain, it thrives despite it.
