I just read this part of the book for the first time (personally embarrassed at how long it took me to seriously pick up the book), and loved how determined Frodo was,Β despite beingΒ alone, wounded, compelled to surrender by the enemy, and facing all nine Black Riders!

...Hard to believe just a few pages earlier, Sam was making up a song about the fortitude of troll rumps.
