Description
I thought I'd take a bit of a break from commission art and make something for me Q AQ// I wanted to do a nice fullbody background drawing, so I drew my new baby Coral. I wanted to try giving it a warm atmosphere, which I am not full confident in. But I think this came out decent. I hope you guys enjoy it, and I'll be getting back to work on commissions ;;//Also, the pose was very much inspired from a drawing by @/cynical-pancake

Okay.. let me try to Express how amazing this is..
HERES A LIST OF THIGNS I WOULD LIKE YOU TO TEACH ME PLEASE!
-how do you light and shade
-How do you draw clouds?
-how do you draw water?
-DO YOU HAVE A YOUTUBE CHANNEL WITH SPEEDPAINTS?
-how do you design the colours to match with the background?

Ahh thank you so much lol! I am not the best teacher but I will give it a go and try to answer your questions //
1. A pick the direction of the light source (for this it was a back/side lighting, and not very realistic tbh) and shade and highlight accordingly.
2. I use a brush with spread and noise on it so it is very textured. Then I used a blue colour, then purple, then orange/pink, and then yellow all radiation out from the light source (which is the sun in this case). I try to keep it textured.
3. I start with a darker base (in this case dark brown) and use a warm yellow colour on a luminosity layer, and build it up. Everytime I build it up I used smaller brush sizes and lighten the colour. And remember, to use these lighter layers over the character, to give the effect the ripples are over the character.
4. Ahh sadly I haven't set up a youtube channel yet but I hope to do so in the future! Currently I do sometimes stream on twitch, so you can see me draw in real time, but my internet isn't the best so I can do it all the time.
5. Colourmatching is really important. First of all, you need to decided it the piece is going to be warm tones, cool tones or nutural. (this one is warm toned). Then I usually made a concept sketch and make the colours for the character and bsckground before I even start on lineart. I always try to add some of the tones from the character into the background. IE. Blue of the clouds, and blue fines, yellow skin, yellow sky, pinky orange cloud for pinky orange hair and coral. Ex.
