The urge to interrupt him before he had finished was overwhelming. You pressed your thighs together hoping it would help stave off the uncomfortable feeling in your lower abdomen. Your handsome husband remained oblivious as he faced your bump with a picture book in one hand as he read enthusiastically. Once you both found out you were expecting, Sousuke became very adamant on looking after you and your unborn child. Whether it was joining you in prenatal classes, talking to Rin about how his wife's pregnancy was like or massaging your swollen feet and ankles and much more.

That's it. I can't take it anymore.

  "...and so, the little mermaid-"

Sousuke looks up from the story book and a chuckle escapes his lips. He watches you waddle to the ensuite with your hands already reaching towards them hem of your dress, preparing yourself for the wonders of an empty bladder. After the sound of a flush, your ears perk up to footsteps heading towards the bathroom only to feel his warmth radiating from behind. He nudges the bridge of his dark rimmed glasses up and averts his gaze to your reflection in the mirror.

"I'm going to blame you if our phone will be ringing off the hook because she's too beautiful," he says, then placing a kiss on your cheek.

"Ha, I bet it's because she's such a sweet talker like her Dad~" you tease.

"I mean it, it would be great if she is like you. You're everything I dreamed of [_F/n_]."

Turning towards him, your [_e/c_] orbs meet his own teal pair. Your soft hands cup the sides of his face. He'd grown older; he now wore glasses and Rin would tell him to be careful of wrinkles; his exact words, 'Oi, Sousuke. Don't look so serious, you don't want people to think you're the kid's grandpa~'.

"I know she'll be wonderful because we made her together, Sousuke."

As you remove your hands, he leans down and kisses your lips tenderly, and you can feel the corners of your lips rise into a grin. As you pull away he returns your smile, his next words influenced by your heartwarming reply.

  "I'll cook dinner tonight."

The great thing being pregnant was having Sousuke help around the house more often, just watching him with your [_f/c_] apron tied around his waist was an image you had engraved into your memories. Having recently discovered why people found watching their other half working hard, was very substantial in comparison to your pre-pregnancy life. The dark hared male would always refuse to wear the cute apron because it wasn't masculine, although your frequent bouts of mood swings changed his mind completely.

The way he would shift his weight to his other foot and use his teeth to pull up the dishing washing gloves... It was definitely something that made you wish you were more limber than your current state.

However, tonight the house was not silent from your usual gawking, instead your hysterics echoed throughout the house as you watched your favourite tv show. His large and muscular form approaches you as you sit comfortably on the sofa. Just seeing you happy was enough for him although he quickly changes his mind. His eyes narrow, focusing on the ice cold treat on the silver spoon as it entered your mouth. A scowl forms on his face as he watches the repetitive motion of the utensil re-entering your mouth with another spoonful.

"[_F/n_]," his stern voice interrupts your focus.

A cold shiver runs up your spine and you sense your husband's changed demeanour. Slightly annoyed, you rest the bowl of [_f/flavour_] icecream onto the top of your large belly.

"I'm eating for two!" you explain, "Other mums say you need to feed your cravings or the baby will dribble a lot once there born."

"[_F/n_], you still have to eat healthy!"

"The baby wants what she wants~"

"Fine, but stop using our kid as a table~"

"You're just jealous..." you taunt, then ignoring him until you finished your show...and ice cream.

"What...?"

"..."

"Fine. I'm going to take a shower."

With your doting yet particular husband's presence gone, you return to another heaping of your heavenly dessert.

  I'm pushing this baby out in a few weeks and yet, you won't let me enjoy some freaking icecream before we're to our necks in dirty nappies (diapers).... *sigh*

Finishing his shower, Sousuke wraps a fluffy white towel around his hips, then enters the bedroom. Standing in front of the tall boy, his hand reaches for a drawer only to halt when he realises the house is dead quiet.


  She probably fell asleep watching tv...

Although he brushes off the strange lingering feeling, instinctively he changes into some clothes so he could investigate further.

Sousuke enters the living room; the room in which he last saw you; his pulse increases as he is unable to hear your voice. He is immediately struck by how dishevelled his surroundings are. Though it was not that different from usual, random drawers were open with miscellaneous items scattered around. An ominous feeling overcomes him; your purse and keys remained in its original place but, you weren't home...

  No. No. She's fine Sousuke.

  She's probably sulking since you nagged her about eating healthy.

  Damn. Your wife is pregnant, she has freaking mood swings!

  Baka, you should have just shut your mouth.

Now, without the comforting presence of his pregnant wife, it strikes him how his very last moment with you would be the both of you bickering. Adrenaline pumps throughout his body as he searches for you on foot; maybe you were upset from your stupid fight earlier and ran off or someone took you... He shudders at the last thought, shaking his head he tries to block out the worst case scenarios popping up. Running down the street, he thinks back to all your moments together.



"[_F/n_]!?"

The streetlights illuminate a young woman with a rather large bump with a plastic bag in her [_left/right_] hand. You eyed the familiar figure dashing towards you, they widen as you remember the mess you made while looking for the limited edition ice cream offer from the local supermarket.

Ah! I forgot to leave a note~

Sousuke grabs you by your shoulders, scanning your body for any injuries; only to mentally face palm as he spots the cold treats peeking out from the bag.


"We could've went together," he says, "You scared me for awhile."

He's overcome with relief that his wife and baby were unharmed. As he ruffles his damp hair, he then made a mental note to make sure the house was stocked with ice cream; he was much too young and fit to have a heart attack.

"You told me to be healthy so I'm exercising..." you grumble, giving him the plastic bag to carry.

He intertwines the fingers of his free hand with your own, you beam at his lovely company on the way back. You were very lucky to have a swimmer for a husband; his stature and seemingly cold and serious exterior helped a very much in these kinds of predicaments.

"Your laugh." he states bluntly.

"Hmm?" you turn to him with a quizzical look upon your face.

"It would be perfect if she had your laugh."

They told me that to make her fall in love,

I had to maker her laugh.
