I have a few questions for you, Long-nose... If you could do anything for your nakama, would you?Of course!
Would you fight for them?
Yes!
Go through any and all pain for them?
Yes!
Would you die for them? Would you give up your very LIFE to protect them?
No matter what.
If this really happens... I will cry. 
Let me explain... I have this bad feeling that Usopp may get in a fight in the future where he has to make a choice between his life and those of the Straw-hats.
I also think that there is a possibility that he would use a REJECT DIAL to end it all. 
I mean, I doubt that Oda-sama would have mentioned/ shown the reject dial only once just for the Skypeia arc.... I dunno. It's probably just me and my worry for Usopp's safety in the New World. 
lol Well, I had to draw this pic... Just had too. I'm doodling One Piece stuff a lot just because I have the time and I really did like this drawing so I went with it.

Njah, if any-one is going to survive, it is going to be Usopp.
He has that entire "Hero." theme going on, of being the secret Hero among the straw-hats.
He is sat-up, to go back one day. And as he was known as the village liar, plus neither his face nor name has appared on any wanting posters, he has no proof for all that he has done.
So he will probably go back one day, and tell all those amazing true stories about the straw-hat pirates, while people are in a discussion whether they are true or not.. which is sad in its own right really. But hey, Kaya is waiting around for him, I don't think it's entirely coincidental that Oda showed us how many people that wants to marry her, and that Kaya apparently has shut all of them down thus far..
Of cause I do think it kind of sucks, that Usopp will end up back where he started.. I mean dude, he was out doing all of that stuff, should he just rot away on a little island after that?
That would be unfitting for a true brave warrior of the sea, he has to go out there again.. Luffy though is pretty much doomed, he is going to die by the end of the series.. :/

Ahh, I was all happy about badass!Usopp, and then I read the description...
But I am convinced Oda will never kill off any of the Straw Hats. It just... wouldn't feel right. I could see something like this happening... but Usopp would definitely survive, if barely.

i completely agree. the worst thing a writer can do is kill the main characters (the straw hats are all one big character put together. you need them all if they're to survive). After all the respect and reputation he's gained i just don't think he'd be willing to risk it all by killing one of the Straw-hats

I feel like some authors can get away with killing a main character. It really depends on the tone of the story. One Piece... it would just feel so very out of place and so very against everything One Piece stands for. The Straw Hats just couldn't survive if one of their members died. It would kill the crew.

Exactly. Even Zoro said that the crew depends on each other and each member is crucial. I think this was pretty much proven with Usopp with the whole enies lobby. You're absolutely right.

Ah, I do~~ Really, Usopp's expression and body-language here are fabulous (and I forgot to mention it before, but I totally agree that the Reject Dial is probably going to make a reapperance in a big way... it was such a huge deal in Skypeia, I don't think Oda'll just forget about it).

I dunno, bringing-dead-characters-back-to-life doesn't seem like Oda's style... it would seem like a total ass-pull because there hasn't been anything in the story so far that even hints at it being possible... Bringing someone back from the BRINK of death is very One Piece, but... One Piece has done a fabulous job of showing that death ISN'T cheap, and that when someone actually dies it's a HUGE DEAL, whereas in a lot of other stories dying isn't a huge deal because there's a million and one ways for the characters to be revived...
I dunno, I just think Oda wouldn't kill a Straw Hat, plain and simple...

That is incredibly true. It doesn't seem like Oda would make someone die and come back to life. He puts people close to death frequently but he makes it so you're either DEAD or ALIVE. XD Yay bounty pun!

I agree that we will likely see the reject dial and it will be Usopp to use it. I do not think it will kill him
Usopp has conditioned his body using the impact dial on several events, toughening him up and then there is his training with Heracles-san.
Remember that Wiper had used Reject several times about twice, and survived so unless Usopp uses it 3-4 times, he will survive

Oh yeah it'll hurt, no doubt, but if Usopp can live the 48 hrs of injury during Water 7/Enies Lobby then he WILL live through one, even two (Wiper did two and survived) Reject uses in close timing of each other....but be in pain until he heals
