But it got panned by critics and ended up losing $200,000,000 at the box office.

WHY?!? I've seen it probably a hundred times! The scene where the heroic Queen Leonida defeats the evil Princess Aken-Kuchi by hitting her 'weak point' is worth the price of admission by itself!
