Description
Ru's eye's narrowed as Azuro and Ky disappeared in the distance. He huffed and wiped the sweat off his forehead before turning to the fallen stump beside him.

"Are you okay?" there was a hint of worry in his voice as he spotted the scrape on the other's elbow, "Can you stand?" he asked whilst extending a paw towards her.

"Y-yeah, I'm okay." she reached out her own claws towards his but paused before looking into the red stump's eyes, Ru held a soft gaze and a smile that only lightly tugged at his eyes. Deciding him not a threat, K proceeded to grab the offered paw and Ru helped her up.

Ru circled her and took a closer look at the scrape and hummed in thought. "Well at least it's not deep, still, we should go to Moomy Leutogi, just in case, come on." he took a couple of steps forward and gestured for her to follow.

"Oh! No it's fine, you don't have to come with me."

"It's no trouble really, my brother was the one who knocked you over in the first place, the least I could do is make sure you're treated before I go."

"Okay then, if you say so."

Leutogi frowned for a moment once the injury was shown to her, but it was quickly replaced with a soft smile, "nothing a bit of ointment and a band-aid wont fix." she said as she levitated said items towards her.

The two stumps shared a smile and Ru stepped back to give their Moomy room to work.

"Though, I gotta ask, how did this happen you two?"

"It was my fault!" Ru blurted before the other stump even had time to process the question, she and Leutogi gave him an odd look and Ru was acutely away of the blush forming on his face.

He cleared his throat before he continued, "I was running around in the field and I didn't notice so I accidentally knocked her down, it was an accident I swear."

Leutogi rose a brow at him and turned to the other kid, "Is that true?" The stump looked at Ru who was signaling for her to just go with it, so with a tentative nod, she confirmed his story. "Okay well, seeing as no one was badly injured I suppose I could let this go, but" she turned to Ru and bent down to meet him at eye level, "Next time, be more careful okay?"

"I will."

"Good, now run along now you two." Ru watched as the adult walked off to continue her duties before letting out a soft breath of relief.

"Why'd you do that?" Ru jumped and looked at the other kid.

"Do what?"

"Say that you did it?"

Ru couldn't help but let out a nervous chuckle "Oh, that, uh to be honest, I don't know," he played with his bracelet, cyan an all too familiar shade, "I guess I just didn't want to get him in trouble." he finished with a shrug.

"Oh, I guess that makes sense."

Ru barked out a sharp laugh, "No it doesn't, and you know it."

The other stared back at him before letting out her own giggle, "Yeah, it doesn't." The two shared another short laugh before Ru looked nervous once more.

"I'm sorry my brother knocked you down by the way."

"It's okay, it's not your fault."

Silence filled the air, neither party daring to say anything.

"I didn't get your name by the way." Ru said turning to face her fully.

"Oh, I'm K."

"K huh? Solid name." he extended a paw towards her, "A pleasure to meet you K, I am Rutile." he stated, mocking a formal tone.

K shook his paw and bowed and with her own mock formal replied, "The pleasure is all mine Rutile."

They chuckled and smiled at each other.

"Wanna go see if there's any snacks in the kitchen?"

"Sure why not." and with that the two were off, and for the first time, Ru was able to relax around someone without his brother around.
