imma go as basic and cliche as I possibly can for these two for the sake of cute

in short:

Joon dropped his keys into a body of water while working and wasn't able to retrieve them out of fear of getting electrocuted
later that day Hae was out gathering food for some locals when he came across the keys in the water
he has a habit of collecting things he finds interesting in the water and making trinkets out of them so he took the keys with him
he showed the others his discovery when he returned back to the shore and Joon recognized his keys by one of the keychains
they've both seen each other before but Joon never showed interest in talking to Hae so when he asked for the keys Hae became very excited
he was curious as to what kind of stories Joon had as a patrol class
as first he refused to tell him anything but Hae threatened to keep his keys if he didn't
not wanting to have to buy new ones Joon eventually gave in
he talked about what he does normally, which wasn't anything special in his eyes, but Hae seemed to be very invested in what he was saying

every time after that Hae takes it upon himself to greet Joon whenever he sees him, ask him about his day, and show him some of the cool things he found in the water
at first it was annoying to Joon to go out of his way to spend time with Hae but he eventually enjoyed their time together up to the point of spending his free time to go and visit him

Joon often gets poked fun at for spending so much time at the shore now but he insists, lying, that it's for work reasons
