I LOVE both but I think I like the first one better... I think that has to do more with the emotion expressed in it though and less to do with the art-style...
It's not fair Alfons died! T_T
Man I was OBSESSED with FMA for like 3 years. I fell out my junior year of highschool.
I watched the Conqueror of Shambala DVD this week for the first time though and I wanna get back into it although it does feel a bit old.
I wonder if the Manga will get me re-odsessed with it or not... I hope it does cuz I'm either gonna buy it or read it in the store! XD

in the second one there's a bit of weirdness with Ed's lower half of his face.
Aside from that: as I said before, it's difficult to compair lineart with a colored piece, but aside from that, the emotion is relatively equal in this one, just different emotions. I like both, though they tell different stories. In this one, the favorite has less to do with the artstyle and more with the prefered emotion, I think.
I do, though, really like how you've changed up your profiles; there's a lot of character in them.

I'd fall out of the fandom...but then the new chapter comes out and I remember that I'd die without FMA. xD

lol, Alfons looks like he's getting back at Ed for something, and Ed looks like "I REALLY don't have time for this, now give me the damn arm back!" Looks like Ed's going to lunge at Alfons or something. In the original, he looks more tired, and Alfons looks more innocent about it. lol
It's awesome.

What I find cool about these sets is more how you imagine them differently, how you see the scene, than the technique itself (though that is also interesting to see!)
Your old art isn't eye-scorching at all. You should see it as encouragement. I look back on some of my old fic and cringe, but I like the fact that it documents how far I've come.
Awww <3 don't get disillusioned by the wank! People are just getting excited, that's all. But it's a wonderful series, and there's plenty of people who just trundle on having fun. I'm glad I help you stay in, though <3 I have few enough internet buddies, I'd hate to lose you.
AND SPEAKING OF BUNNIES, WHERE IS MY ARTSPAM OF YOU-KNOW-WHAT FIC??? DO YOU KNOW YOUR HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIED FOR FIRST PLACE which nobody is supposed to know yet because they're not posting the announcement askldsjg ah well probably nobody will notice it here anyway XD
...guh, how do you make small text here, anyway?

I quite like the new version. The faces are more expressive than the old ones and capture a certain cheekish-ness to Alfons while conveying Edward's total lack of amusement.
You ARE improving, Snaily. This is evidence. ^^

Yaa I know what you mean about falling out of a fandom... usually it's over-exposure to it, so you start to get bored. My FMA obsession only started recently, so I'm still going strong. Shameful! (not really. ^^ ) I chose the fanbase of Royai, and most of the fans I've talked to are dignified enough not to get into arguments. But I do know that eventually I'll wear it out just like all my other obsessions...
But still, I love looking at your work, no matter what fandom it's from!
rantrantrant... sorry.

People take fandoms too seriously. |D; *spoken by the true FMA junkie herself* Eh, I've kinda fallen out of it a bit, myself. Right now, it's all about Hellsing. Nothing like a refreshing dose of mindless blood and carnage to put things into perspective. :'D
Don't get me wrong, I still love FMA. The fangirls just kinda ruined it for me. That and the yaoi fairings. Sorry, guys. I'm just not into that kind of thing. Never will be, probably. But heck. One aspect of universal anime fandom that I'm glad to avoid. *sits quietly to read manga online and cuddle her Alucard plushie*

I've fallen out the FMA fandom myself. xP It doesn't have the same magic as it used to after you get yelled at by Vic. xDDD
I HeiEd will always remain my OTP though. It's so nice to see them again. :3

I love the new one; Ed looks so much more ANGRY, and Alfons so much more SMUG. <3 XD
There IS a lot of wank in the fanbase...which is why I ignore it. XD; Hell, I go OUT OF MY WAY to ignore it...I block people who are frequent wangst-causers, or flit between different websites, or get immersed in homework and drop a very truthful "Can't talk gaiz." >3 Fact: Fangirls ruin EVERYTHING. Solution: ignore fangirls. XD;

Ooh I know right? *SECRETLY KIND OF PROUD, LMAO* <33
Thank you~~!
God, but it's hard! Everywhere you go there'll always be some "omg EdWinry is moar canon than RoyRiza", "Elricest is disgraceful and dishonours my eyeballs", "Heiderich is a phoney/still alive/had T.B./rocket fume disease" etc etc... Jesus Christ it's just fandom, why can't we all get along?
I mean, I like reading too much into things as much as the next person, but only when it's in the spirit of fun. FMA fandom just... isn't very fun :<

Hehehe, you're welcome. :3 You can be proud; it doesn't have to be a secret! <3
Meh, from my experience every fandom is like that. FMA just tends to attract minds of EVERY kind. The delicious aesthetic qualities of the anime impress and draw in the simple-minded fangirls, and the complex themes, allusions, and mythology fascinates those of a more scholastic calling. The two groups inevitably clash, both with each other and WITHIN each other. I find the only REAL problem arises is when people from either or both of these demographics insist that THEIR point of view is BETTER THAN YERZ. I.E., SHIPPING. Same problem that every other fandom has. I don't care what context it's in, trying to force someone into your own point of view is BAD. Which is, from my humble observations, the source of about 95% of fandom wangst. XD;

I know what you mean, I fell out for a while (I was done with listening to the annoying fangirls BAWWW) but I've just started getting into it again... It's true, nothing fills the FMA void.
Also, yay for art comparison! x3 I prefer the newer style; I like the more realistic faces. >.>'

Ugh, I don't even know what it is that's put me off. Just too much of the same thing, I suppose. And I guess a lot of my friends who were into FMA kind of drifted into other fandoms and so did I, but it's true - nothing's really seized my attention like FMA did at first.
Anyway, thank you~! I'm quite proud of how I've come along XD;
