This is a definite twist in the plot for the upcoming Season 4. Don't ask me how this is going to work out with Twilight becoming an alicorn princess, and what this means for her relationship with her friends and her home in Ponyville. Will she remain an alicorn in Season 4, or will she change back into a unicorn? I am, however, giving the writers the benefit of the doubt until I see the Season 3 ending for myself and also see what happens in Season 4.
Is it just me, or does Twilight look really cute with wings?

This is most interesting. I heard there be 2 more seasons after this one so there's different outcomes that if she stays a princess or changes back through the 2 seasons. Its awesome to be a princess I guess but the down side is what Misslucky said about her being too busy and also the worst is that she wont age and her friends will. But still if there more seasons then she might change back into a unicorn, but hey its a kids show its not for grown people like anime.

I really doubt they'd end at five seasons. For one thing, every show ever made by Lauren Faust has always ended at 6 seasons, and this is the most profitable of all.
Even if the original plan was for five seasons, the ratings will likely drive them further. Fun fact: Pokemon was originally only going to go to the end of the second generation, but the ratings inspired them to keep going and now they're working on a sixth gen.

Now that's just messed up; you haven't seen her do ANYTHING as an Alicorn and you immediately pass it off as terrible. It's that kind of pessimistic attitude that's going to ensure she sucks for you, because you "just know" she's going to, that's the only way you'll be able to judge the quality of the episode. Only if you look at the episode with the possibility in mind that it might end up being good can it possibly end up being good.

No I mean... usually princesses and royalty do not have time to hang out with friends.... And she can handle all the elements herself now... so... the other 5 will become kinda obsolete... And the whole friendship will be altered...

Not really. Can't you imagine how hilarious it would be to have an episode about Twilight learning to fly? That would be funny as hell.

... she'd learn it fast... and well, frankly a princess who cannot fly is a disgrace to the kingdom.
Plus I can picture an episode in season 4 where Twilight Sparkle is too busy for her friends and thus she spirals into depression, then her friends show up and she's like "help me" as she's being dragged off to give a lecture on magic or stamp some bill for pony parliament or something.
