Description
What can I say, I was in the mood to draw dinosaurs again. After my post last year of drawing Lydia and Reuben as Utahraptors, I kind of wanted to draw my main players as dinosaurs too. This was a little bit trickier because as they are all mammalian in nature, there's not really any links to dinosaurs with any of them. So instead, I just fit them to dinosaurs that best shared their attributes. Some of these dinos aren't 100% accurate, but I just wanted to stylise.

-Antonio: Incisivosaurus.
Antonio must be a small, plucky dinosaur to match his almost squirrelly demeanor. A dinosaur with feathers would lend best to his scrappy original look, but most importantly, it has buck teeth

-Damien: Diabloceratops
Damien is one of the few characters with horns, so he has to be a ceratopsian. His final form has elements of a Triceratops, Stegosaurus and Ankylosaurus, so he takes on the trike parts the most. And the name of the
Diabloceratops, or devil-horned face, fit just too well

-Duncan: Deinocheirus
I had a hard time picking between a Deinocheirus and a Therizinosaurus for Duncan, because they're both almost bear-like with big builds, shaggy fur-like feathers and long claws. But the duck-bill look fit Duncan better than the Theri's beak

-Kit: Saurophaganax
Kit was almost going to be an Allosaurus, because the Allosaurus was referred to as the “lion of the Jurassic”, but as Kit is unnaturally large for her species and sex, I went with a Saurophaganax, as it was thought to be a much bigger allosaurid. Kit best suited a large carnivorous theropod, but she needed bigger arms than a tyrannosaur or an abelisaur

-Lela: Ceratosaurus
Lela was also going to be a carnivorous theropod, but a much smaller one than Kit. I had a hard time picking between a Ceratosaurus and a Dilophosaurus, but the Cerato allowed for her to attach piercings onto her horns

-Morgan: Ankylosaurus
I could have made Morgan a Cerato too, but she fit no other dinosaur better than the Ankylosaurus. As she's built like a tank, and a natural ability to bash in people's kneecaps is ideal for a bully like her

-Nyx: Parasaurolophus
Nyx was the first one designed just because I wanted to see them as a Parasaurolophus. They take after the Jurassic Park parasaurs more, being skinnier and bipedal, but they still come off as tall and clumsy

-Rinku: Spinosaurus
Another one I took after Jurassic Park but only in aggressive temperament. The Spinosaurus had a big sail that Rinku would see as a hinderance, like his original wings (though I didn't want to make him a pterosaur). He also had to be an enormous carnivore with big claws, so the Spino it was

-Snarky: Mononykus
Snarky had to be a small feathered dinosaur. That's my entire reasoning
