Officer Jodi walked through the murky waters of the swamp. She moved her flashlight around to look for an escaped criminal. "Ugh, why did they run to this swamp. So gross and mucky." She says as she walks through a mud pit. Jodi turns off her flashlight as the sun begins to rise. The search team had split up to cover more ground, and Jodi ended up alone. Then she makes it to a bit of land, and decides to rest. When she wakes up, it is almost noon, so she gets up and continues the search. "What was that?" She exclaims as there is rustling in a nearby cluster of plants. Jodi carefully walks over, and pulls the plants away at lightning speed.
A sub-adult spectacled caiman stares at her, but doesn't move a muscle. She sighs and walks away. "Of course, just when I thought I had them!" She angrily mutters to herself and continues walking, making it into an even muddier part of the swamp, and ground sinks beneath her, but she doesn't get stuck in the mud. Then she sees a clearing and decides to stand there for a moment, watching the jungle around her for the escaped convict. Then, Jodi feels her boots filling up with mud and looks down to see she is sinking at an alarmingly fast rate. She tries to pull her feet out, but only sinks deeper. "Ack! No! I can't get stuck!" She cries as the mud is up to her knees. It doesn't seem like normal mud, however.
The mud seems to pull Jodi in, reaching up and bringing her down. She struggles and moves around, but only sinks deeper. It is now up to her waist, and Jodi sinks deeper still. "No no no no no no no! What is this? Why can't I escape!?" She yells out for help, but then realizes something. The hunt for the criminal ended an hour ago, everyone was miles away. The mud is up to her shoulders, and it begins to dry and harden under the scorching sun. She sighs and stops struggling. "No is going to find me. I'll probably get eaten by a jaguar before anyone shows up." The sun is high in the sky, and the mud is hard and dry. She tries to escape again, but it was like cement, impossible to escape. Jodi's shoulders were underneath the mud, with some of her neck splattered with it.
She yelped as more mud was dumped over her head. The criminal poured mud over her until she was hidden. The mud would dry, leaving Jodi stuck there for all of time.
