Description
To me, he is the quintessential Punch out character. He's the first opponent that I had a lot of trouble with when I played this as a kid.I still have yet to beat Super Macho man in the original (he's much easier in Super, of course).
I did somehow manage to beat Tyson by getting to him with a code when I was about 10. I'll always like Super better than the original as I just like
the fact that there are more options for power punchs and I just really like the art style and music.
I started this painting about 8 months ago and just left it sitting. I came back to it and made some changes, most notably KH's chest. Despite my using the logo to look a little
more professional, this is obviously not official Nintendo art. Mario is intended to look comedic. I used the sprite for him pointing at the challenger as reference and it kept making me laugh.
This image was painted in Photoshop CS6 with an Intuos pro small tablet as always, using no 3D or AI assets.
I have another one laying around that is almost done, and have recorded the process. I will post the video to Youtube as usual.
