Description At first, Robin wasn't a character that interested me. but when I saw him in "Arkham City" (yes, this game again ^^) I started writing my own story for him and now HE'S MIIIINE

Hope you like my take. And just a question for you americans, Was it obvious for you to understand the name "Robin" when you first heard it ? I mean, it's a bird ok, but it's not really a BIG scary bird as a bat can be. Or is it about his acrobatic thing with is family ?

Awesome job

There are a few rationals

Robin, a bird of spring and the day, counteracts the Bat and the night
In many continuities, Dick's parents called him "Our little Robin:
The original design was based off Robin Hood.

This is a very nice take on Robin's design.

If they don't put Jason Todd in the next game I'm gonna bust a head!

But still, very nice.

And thanks for submitting this to In The Panels.

The reason Richard Grayson took the name "Robin" was because when he was in Haily's circus with his parents his mother said he "flew like a robin" when he was on the trapeze with them. Dick chose his original outfit because a)he was like...eight and to an eight year old in the 40's the costume looked cool, b) because he already had it; it was his costume when he was a Flying Grayson, most of all c) Because he wanted criminals to underestimate him as a foe. As much as I love Bats, Dick in all of his incarnations (but mostly Nightwing) will be my favorite of the bat family. Tim is a close second though

Great work and welcome to the Bat-fandom!

Robin is the bird most commonly associated with spring. Robin is supposed to represent hope in contrast to Batman's grim nature. Gotham must always have a Batman and like the third Robin said, Batman always needs a Robin to stop him from getting too dark.

Okayy, I like this idea. But my Robin is on his way to the darkness, so I failed on that point

Nah, dark Robins work too. Both Jason Todd and Damien Wayne have been on a darker path, but they still help keep Batman on the side of the Angels. In their case, Batman tries to make sure he sets the right example so they don't fall. =]

Thanks !! It seems like it's more Tim Drake in the story. But you can also play with the Red Robin costume and there's Dick "Nightwing" Grayson too.

The first Robin (Dick Greyson, who was Nightwing in Arkham City) named himself after Robin Hood (hence his costume). It just happened that Robin also fit with the flying animal motif. Also: I LOVE THIS.

No, it's a ridiculous name I don't know if you've ever seen what he looked like originally [link] , but he definitely wasn't scary or intimidating. Thankfully, the character has evolved a lot since those old days, and the name Robin is just kind of a remnant from a different era in comics.

Your take on him is great, too. Very utilitarian, but I instantly knew who he was from the colors alone. Great job!

Thank you and yes, like you said the name is more a remnant.
