So this is my newest hopeful character, Desmeralda.
It's for the contest *Failed-romance-x is holding, [link] . It's the second one, Design A Reaper.
I saw the contest when seh opened it up, and I really loved the idea, and I've never really created a character that is special to me, just random horses for HARPG, and I saw this as my chance.

SO. Here's her info and everything. If I don't win, I plan to make a few design changes and keep her as my official equisona. I'm also going to make a foal picture of her as well. xD

Species/Breed: Reaper Unicorn/Thoroughbred build
Aura Color: Green
Role: Soothsayer
Significant Other: None
Personality: Very kind to those she actually knows, but offstandish and quiet around anyone she doesn't know. Most people take it as she's uppity and rude, but Desmeralda is anything but. She's quite humble, despite her talent to see beyond. When she's entered a vision, Desmeralda is wild and erratic, striking out at any being that approaches her, ethereal or corporeal. Most of the time she's swarmed by visions of the future and possibilities of those around her. She can't see the future of anyone whose fate is intertwined or close to hers, and her own future is impossible to glimpse. When she has glimpses of the past, many times it's of her own and her horrible mistakes that haunt her. When she is touched by other beings, she sees their past and future, so she tends to avoid contact with others.
History: When Desmeralda was only a foal, barely a few weeks old, her entire herd was slaughtered by some unseen force. All she knew was she had gone to the stream for a drink of water, blacked out, and when she came back, her herd was dead. She ran far far away after that, hiding from other animals. When she was a yearling, she saw a spirit for the first time. It was a deceased horse who was full of so much anger and hatred he was unable to move on, and Desmeralda was almost killed because she dared to try and speak to him, unable to understand he was dead.
When she turned 2, she was struck by lightning in a field during a terrible storm, almost dying, nursed back to health by a very kind young stallion. However, when he touched her for the first time when she was conscious, she saw his entire future and that he would die violently due to a battle with a rouge stallion over a band of mares. She was absolutely terrified of knowing this, and she ran away as soon as she could. As she got older, she learned very quickly to stay isolated, seeing violent and tragic futures for all she came in contact with, and she saw almost each one die horribly. Desmeralda soon learned she could delve into the past of the horses she met, and she knew instinctively that it would be her fault for each horse's death if she remained in her life. Instead, she retreated into solitude, immersing herself in visions, all while in awe of this talent she seemed to have aquired.
Now, over three hundred years later, she's venturing out into the world to see what has changed. Desmeralda is hoping to meet others who have talents or special abilities like her own and maybe try and understand why she is the way she is, despite being able to have seen the past and future, including the present as it was happening.
However, during her isolations, she saw things that would make any horse shiver, and to this day she knows in her core why her herd died, and who caused it. It haunts her every night.

WOOOO! so that's my entry. I started on teh picture... Friday night. Finished it last night. I'm really really proud of this piece, and I tried out some new shading stuff. I amd damn proud of this.
