Firstly, beaches aren't easy to make, so I give you credit for attempting one
Secondly, this is kinda like my first version of my Shallow Waters - It was dark and the clouds were quite similar to these But in the second version, the whole scene was brighter and it got so much feedback - My point you say? Well, take a look at these suggestions and then lemme know when you've done it
Firstly, turn off "Clouds cast shadows". This will then lighten the whole scene and make it look more welcoming
Don't get me wrong, but it doesn't seem as if you've created your own textures on this piece? They look like a file that comes with TG... So, play about with some textures of your own. Make the sand texture just a few metres above the water level and with the smallest of fuzziness, then add your grass but make sure it doesn't run into the sand TOO much, as grass usually doesn't grow in sand - Although, if you get it so it's just a lil bit of grass, it looks as if the wind has blown the sand into the grass
Sorry for the long comment

Have you tried World Machine?
It's pretty easy to make a beach in that, and much less frustrating than trying to find one in Terragen itself
This is a cool terrain, but you need to work on your surface map more, and I'm afraid I donb't like your clouds
if you write me a note, I can help you with those, I don't really feel like writing it out right now, sorry

Good job with the rays, and I like the sun position and the way you can see the sun patches on the ground. Now the beach could be a little bigger...in that I mean more sand. But other than that it's a wonderful picture, keep it up!

Nicely done, very nicely done with the lighting coming down past the clouds. make it a tad bit bigger and it'd make a perfect desktop background. ^_^
