Flowerpaw lashed out her tail. With her claws sheath, she lunged forward at Leapwillow. Leapwillow stepped aside as she returned the attack with a hit behind Flowerpaw's head. Her mentor grabbed her by the scruff and tossed her aside. Leapwillow was about to grab her again when Flowerpaw got back to her paws and went around her mentor. She got on her back and used her strengh to bring her down to the ground. Leapwillow tried to get back at her, but she was to fast as she pinned her to the ground. After a couple of moments, Flowerpaw relaxed as she got off her mentor. Leapwillow sat up as she looked at her apprentice. "You did well." she smiled, shaking off her pelt. Flowerpaw let out a sigh of relief. Thank Starclan, she thought to herself I was hoping I didn't cause to much damamge. "And young Flowerpaw," Leapwillow added, "Next time, don't hold back. I see great fighitng in you, I can take it." Flowerpaw felt her pelt grow hot, her mentor did seem to know her well.

"Come now," she said, "Let's head back to the camp." Flowerpaw walked besdie her mentor as Flashpaw and his mentor joined them. "A fine day of training Leapwillow?" Gorsepelt said with a smile. "Excellent." she replied. Flashpaw and Flowerpaw walked side by side one another. "How's training for you?" Flashpaw asked. "I think I'm getting better!" she replied. "That's great to hear." he said, ruffling the top of her head. As they entered camp, Reedwhisker walked towards them. "Reedwhisker." the warriors bowed as Flashpaw and Flowerpaw followed. "You've returned just in time." he greeted, "I would like you and your paw to attend the Gathering tonight." He looked at Gorsepelt saying this as the warrior nodded. "It would be an honor." "Good. You and Flashpaw better get some sleep than before the moon begins to rise." Flashpaw felt a joyful purr in his throat as he said, "I love going to Gatherings!" Flowerpaw felt her tail droop, Flashpaw always gets picked because he's one of the best paws in the Clan. She brushed off the thought as she decided to go see Rosepaw. Going into the apprentice's den she saw her curled up asleep. "Hey," she bounded over, "Rosepaw, wake up." "Whaz?" Rosepaw said sleepily, "Flowerpaw?" "Want to see if we can go to Swimming Cove? The sun is still out and it's a great day for a swim." "Sorry Flowerpaw," Rosepaw yawned, "I can't, I'm going to the Gathering tonight." "Oh." Flowerpaw said as she left, to let her sleep. She sat outside the den as she let out a sigh. That's when she overheard some of the queens. "Mossheart you half to be careful now that your carrying kits." said Shimmerpelt, who was due any day. "I've only just found out I'm carrying kits," Mossheart hissed, "It won't hurt for a little walk in the woods, it won't cause any harm. Besides I'm not staying in the nursery just yet." It came as a shock to find Mossheart carrying kits only just 3 moons after her warrior ceremony but regardless a blessing for the Clan. While everyone already knew who was the father of those kits, Mossheart still wouldn't say. "Are you okay Flowerpaw?" came a voice. Flowerpaw looked to see Stormpaw padding next to her. "Oh yeah," she quickly said. "I couldn't help but hear you wanted to go down to Swimming Cove," Stormpaw said, "My mentor said I'm done for the day, do you still want to go?" Flowerpaw stood up as she said, "Yeah!" The two paws walked out the camp as they headed for Swimming Cove.

"Days like today are the best." Stormpaw said. Flowerpaw looked to the water as she said, "Especially being able to go in the water." Stormpaw's reflection appeared beside Flowerpaw's as she looked at her Clanmate. "How about a good old race?" she declaired. "Ready." he replied. Grabbing a pebble she mumbled, "When it hits the water we go. First one to reach the jagged stone wins." Tossing it in the air, the pebble soared before plopping into the water. The two Riverclan cats launched themselves into the water as the race was on. Flowerpaw took in a breath of air as she went under water. Claw, kick, claw, kick, she went as Stormpaw was matching her speed. They were quickly approaching the finish line as Flowerpaw got an idea. She went deeper down as she swam under Stormpaw. Heading for the surface, she took in a deep breath of air as she hauled herself out of the water. Shaking her pelt off she heard Stormpaw get out the water from behind her saying, "Nice move Flowerpaw." Her tail flicked as he added, "But I let you win." Turning her head at him she said, "Oh I'm sure that's what you did." She began to groom herself as he said, "I did." Looking up at him she said, "Oh sure, well don't hold back when I do this." "Do what?" he began before getting tackled by Flowerpaw. They tossled a few ways as Flowerpaw pinned him down. Smirking, Stormpaw uses his back paws to kick her underbelly to hoist her in the air and onto her back. When Flowerpaw looked up, Stormpaw was now the one pinning her. "You were saying?" he taunted. Flowerpaw felt a low hiss as she playfully cuffed his ear. "Alright now get off me you great lump!" she said. "You're the one who challeneged." he said contently. Stretching herself out she said, "Alright well, we're tied. Let's go for a tie breaker."" "What do you mean?" he asked. "Try and find me," she said, "Like if I were an intruder or something." "Okay." he smiled as Flowerpaw rushed away.

She ran through the trees and shrubs as she stopped to take in a breath. Smiling she felt her heart racing, she was having a great time. Taking in a breath, she suddenly tensed. The scent that filled the air, it smelled of another Clan! She tried to think back on her mentor's lessons on tracking different cats, in this case different Clans. She also took into the account of her surroundings and where she was. Putting things together only one thing came to mind, Shadowclan. That's when she got hit on her side, tumbling over. Her heart raced as she tensed, ready to fight. Before she could return any hit, Stormpaw stood with a grin on his face. She relaxed as he said, "You should really work more on your stealth skills." Scratching the back of his head he continued, "You were a sitting duck." "That doesn't count," Flowerpaw said, "I picked up Shadowclan sccent." Stormpaw stopped as his ears perked. "On Riverclan territory?" Flowerpaw nodded as Stormpaw took a wiff of the air and sure enough, Shadowclan. "You think they're hunting in our territory?" Flowerpaw said with claws sheath out. "Maybe but than again look," he pointed out, "Their border is just beyhond that growing thicket and it was windy today, their scent might have carried in the air." "That's true." Flowerpaw considered. As a breeze picked up, Flowerpaw walked over to his side as she said, "I guess it's time we head back to camp, we could tell our mentors come morning." Stormpaw and Flowerpaw began walking to get back to camp. Flowerpaw couldn't help shake off that thought as she couldn't help but glance back. That's when she saw somethign move. It was hard to tell what it was, but for a moment she thought she caught the scent of one of her Clanmates. Stormpaw looked back to see Flowerpaw had stopped walking as he said, "Hey, are you coming?" Shaking her head she padded to his side as she said, "Yeah, I lost my train of thought." Stormpaw gave a warm smile at his Clanmate as he went along. Flowerpaw took one last look before walking back to camp with Stormpaw.

Night had already fallen by the time the paws returned to camp. It looked like the cats going to the Gathering had already left. Flowerpaw went to the freshkill pile as she grabbed some prey to take back to the den. Going in the den, she placed her prey down as she desided to fix her nest before settling down to eat and soon after, sleep. Once her nest was nice and comfy, she settled down and began to eat. Rustling could be heard as Stormpaw walked into the den. He walked to her as he said, "Room for one more?" Flowerpaw gulped her food as she nodded. The two paws chowed down on their well deserved food. As Flowerpaw finished up, she said, "How's training going for you?" "Great! Lizardtail says I've gotten better at hunting since I first started." he gleamed. "But my progress as a Warrior almost seems like nothing compaired to you." "What?" she said in surprise. "With each day you get better," Stormpaw said, "Even though you're not as big as the rest of us, you fight better than any Warrior." "You really think so?" Flowerpaw said. "I do." he purred. Flowerpaw's tail curled as she felt a soft purr deep with in her throat. Cleanign up their remains of food, Flowerpaw settled in her bed. Stormpaw walked past Flowerpaw to go to his own nest. Looking behind him he said, "Goodnight Flowerpaw." She smiled slightly saying, "Goodnight Stormpaw, I had fun today."

Her nose scrunched up as Flowerpaw sneezed. Opening her eyes she found Rosepaw's tail in front of her face. Lightly pushing it away she slowly got to her paws. Yawning she crept out the nest to see a few rays of the early morning sun. Stretching herself out she saw a few more cats beginning to stir awake. Mossheart tracked out the Warriors den to head to the freshkill pile. As Flowerpaw walked past her, a faint scent crept on Flowerpaw. She stopped suddenly as she could feel her heart pick up a beat. Mossheart turned to go eat her freshkill before Flwerpaw could take in more of the scent. For a moment Flowerpaw watched Mossheart. She shook her head as she went about her way, pushing the thought of Shadowclan scent on Mossheart's pelt away.
