The wind was passing all throughout Pure Heart Valley. The sweet little critters of Pure Heart all went about there day. Kind hellos, snacking on yummy treats, and of course the Sweetiepies talking among one another. While the children played tag through the streets, a pair of eyes loomed in the shadows. A small chuckle was let out by the individual before swiftly going away, unnoticed. On top of the hillside, a black cat walked towards the edge. His red cape flapping heroically in the wind, his whiskers nice and flowing, and his confident stance as he took place looking down on the valley. He rested on one knee as a smile went across his face. It felt great to be a hero and it was going to feel incredible when he finally becomes a legendary hero. He could just imagine it now, people from all over the world will come rushing just to catch a glimpse at his awesomeness. The crowd will cheer his name, they'll write songs about him, and that wasn't even the best part. The best part would be when his sisters and father will come to him, asking him to train them in the ways of being an incredible legendary hero. He chuckled to himself as he could see his father finally giving him that nod of approval, that thumbs up, as he uttered "I'm proud of you son."

For a minute there, Mao Mao had actually thought he was at that point. It wasn't until he heard a piercing voice cut into his vision that he was pulled from his soon-to-be reality. And it wasn't just any voice, oh no, he'd recognize that high pitched cry anywhere. Growling slightly he turned saying, "Adorabat! You can't just scream like that when a legendary hero is looking out into the horizon." Adorabat gave a shy smile as she said, "Opps, sorry Mao Mao! But I couldn't help it, you looked just like a legendary hero!" He smiled slightly as he turned saying, "Well Adorabat-" "GUYS!" came in a huge gasp. The two looked over to see Badgerclops running over to them. "What's wrong Badgerclops?" Mao Mao said immediately rushing to his trusty co-hero companion. "How do you know something is wrong?" Adroabat asked, "Maybe he has good news." "Can't be," Mao Mao said coming to Badgerclops, "He wouldn't be running like that if that's the case." Badgerclops panted as he tried to catch his breath. "Dangerous," he gasped, "Dangerous monster, coming to invade Pure Heart Valley." "Ah I love danger-" Mao Mao started as Badgerclops cut in saying, "No dude, not just any dangerous monster, it's a Embermite." Mao Mao gasped before tightening his fist, "No." "What's a Embermite?" Adorabat asked. "An Embermite is a dragon bug creature that allows itself to catch it's whole body on fire so no one can take a hit! It's a beast who loves the thrill of the hunt of anything soft and squishy." Mao Mao explained, "Making the Sweetiepies a direct target." Running ahead of him he called, "Hurry! We must meet it before it enters in Pure Heart Valley!" "I love me some combat fighting!" Adorabat cheered following her two friends.

Mao Mao led the two as he kept a sharp eye. They were maybe a few ways from the gate to Pure Heart Valley. Badgerclops got his robo arm ready as Mao Mao had his paw hoovered over his sword. Adorabat kept an eye out as she kept close to the group. "Remember, Embermite's are deviously smart creatures. They are a master of disguise." Mao Mao said. Adorabat's ears twitched as she looked behind her. There was nothing there but it felt like there was a shadow casting over her. Mao Mao tripped over something as he looked down. He thought it was a rock but nothing was there. His whiskers twitched as he said, "Badgerclops, take the shot!" Badgerclops used his cannon in the direction Mao Mao pointed. Instead of just flying through the air, it hit something. The camouflage gave away to reveal a huge dragon-bug creature, looming over the three heroes. It let out a beastly yell as Adorabat said, "Wow! How'd you know it was there Mao Mao?" "Because of my sixth sense." he replied as he took out his sword and jumped towards it. "You don't have a sixth sense." Badgerclops replied as he shot at it once gain. It dodged it as Mao Mao took a slice at it saying, "I do too!" The Embermite swiped its large tail across the way, hitting Badgerclops. "Hey! Over here Mr Monster!" Adorabat said flying over its head. It went to swipe her out of the air before Adorabat swooped down and gave a swift kick in the eye. It let out an angry screech as Mao Mao went for the stomach. It was good hit as the Embermite took a small step back. Badgerclops charged for another shot as they all came side-by-side one another. The Embermite stood there for a minute as Adorabat cheered, "Aw yeah, let me give the final blow!" She flew towards it as Mao Mao darted his eyes. The Emebermite growled as the area suddenly became tense and hot. Mao Mao gasped saying, "Adorabat no!" The Emebermite's entire body caught on fire as Adorabat gasped. It went to reach out for her before Badgerclops extendo arm got to her first, pulling her back to safety. "Move!" Mao Mao ordered as the beast's tail came rushing towards them. The fire flew in different directions as the beast lift its tail back up. Mao Mao got up as he growled. "Dude, we need to stop these mini fires before they spread!" Badgerclops saying as his arm transformed into a hose as he started putting out the small fires. "We got to stop the source or it'll be pointless!" Mao Mao replied as he rushed towards it. "Hrrrrarrgggh!" he said jumping in the air and spinning. It caused a gust of wind as the Embermite let out a cry. "I got this Mao Mao!" Adorabat said as she swooped around it fast enough to cause a good amount of wind. The Embermite was growing angry as it reached out to grab her. "Adorabat!" Mao Mao cried as he rushed to grab her. He reached her just in time as the monster hit them.

Mao Mao was shielding Adorabat as they hit the ground. "Mao Mao!" Adorabat said pulling away from him. They both gasped as the monster loomed over them. It's hot breath and body over them. Just as it was about to strike down upon them, something hit the side of the monster's face. Growling, the Emebermite looked to only get hit on the other side. It was like smoke-water bombs as the fire started dying down. Once the fire had went away, the Embermite let out an angry roar. Mao Mao just got back on his feet to find a blur rushing to meet the beast. It wasn't Badgerclops, because he was busy trying to put out the other mini fires, and Adorabat was next to him. It let out a cry as it got hit on the side of it's face. The figure landed swiftly on the ground. Standing proud and tall, the figure looked behind to call, "Hey, let's give it a turn for the worst." Mao Mao shook his head before rushing to the strangers side. The two leaped at the same time as they drew forth their swords. Hitting the Embermite at the same time, the Emebermite was punched into the air. As it came falling back down, the two heroes hit at the same time, knocking it far away from Pure Heart Valley. They panted for a few moments, catching their breath. Badgerclops had just put out the last fire as he turned to his friends. Adorabat flew over to Mao Mao's side as she said, "That was so awesome! The way you just got back up from a nasty hit and knocked it out of orbit!" Standing up straight he dusted off his sword saying, "A heroes work is never done." He looked to his side at the stranger. "But I wasn't alone," he said slowly, "Are you alright?" The stranger stood up, turning in their direction. It was a cat, like Mao Mao, the pelt being a soft of black-grey, wearing a two piece suit with matching blue gloves, and a cape that flew in the wind. "You kidding? That was barely a work-out." the stranger smiled. "What?" Mao Mao said blinking a few times. This new warrior was a girl! Badgerclops came beside Mao Mao saying, "Woah, whose this?" She lifted her sword as she rested it behind her back. "I'm the one who just saved your little friend's behind." Badgerclops looked ot Mao Mao as he cleared his voice saying, "Well uh I could have rebounded on my own, but; the help was useful." "Don't flatter your self too much." she smirked. Mao Mao let out a slight chuckle before Adorabat flew to her face saying, "Excuse me but Mao Mao is the greatest hero ever and could have even beat that monster with one arm behind his back! Do you even know-" "Okay Aodrabat!" Mao Mao said pulling her back slightly. "Hero huh," she said to herself. "We're getting off on the wrong foot here," Mao Mao said, "This here is my trusty co-hero Badgerclops, talented in many different ways." "Oh you." Badgerclops said waving his hand. "You've already met Adorabat, my deputy." he said as Adorabat huffed slightly going to Badgerclops side. "And then there's me, Mao Mao Protector of Pure Heart Valley, legendary hero in the making!" he said standing proud and tall. ""Hmm," she said slowly, "Well the name's Mel Mal, Mel for short." "What brings you here?" Badgerclops said. "I've been traveling around the world, defending the weak, making a name for myself, you know being a legend and stuff. I was passing by when I saw you having some trouble with that brute, decided to give a hand." Mao Mao's whiskers twitched with curiosity saying, "Legend." "Pff, whatever." Adorabat mumbled. "Wait so that wasn't you who threw in the smoke bombs?" Badgerclops asked. "Well no-" Mao Mao began as Mel said, "That was me." "That was so cool." Badgerclops said. "I got to admit, that was cool." Mao Mao said before shaking his head saying, "Wait a minute, so your telling me your a legend?" "Just about," she smiled, "You know, you weren't half bad out there today. I'd even go as much to say you were as good as me. With work I'm sure you'll be a legend in a snap. Why don't I show you a thing or two about being a legend." "Pff Mao Mao doesn't need any showing, he's already good! Right Mao Mao?" Adorabat said. "Hmm," Mao Mao said rubbing his chin, "You were pretty awesome out there." Extending his hand he said, "I'm liking what I'm hearing, let's see what you've got Mel Mal." She smiled as she went to shake his hand. "You could come back to our training area." he said as she put her sword back in her sword sleeve. Badgerclops put his arm around Mel Mal saying, "We also got an extra bedroom, well more so the couch, but I'm sure you'll like it-" They walked ahead of them as Adorabat went to Mao Mao saying, "Mao Mao! What did you do that for? We don't need her, you're already good!" "I appreciate your words," Mao Mao smiled, "And while I am good, I could be even greater. If she shows me her skills, it could help me get one step closer into becoming the legend I'm destined to be." "But Mao Mao," Adorabat said. "It doesn't hurt to learn a new thing." he said smiling at her. "Fine." Adorabat said finally. "That a girl." he said rustling the top of her head. She smiled slightly but couldn't help but stop looking at this Mel Mal. I don't know why but I have a funny feeling she said to herself, it felt like there was a nagging feeling in the bottom in her tummy Like, I don't trust her.

And with that our heroes finally meet the warrior known as Mel Mal. I'm really excited to finally start writing her story and her adventures with Mao Mao and the gang. Stay tuned for the next part.
