Also, it's nice to know that we're both Gauntlet fans, seeing as both of our avatars came from the same game franchise. 🀘🀘

Hopefully, you had a good Halloween night.

Sorry. I thought I had responded earlier.

Yeah, I had to do a double take on your avatar because I'm used to seeing other Gauntlet fans! I am trying my best to convert one of my other friends into being a fan. She's at least willing to play Dark Legacy with me.

I did have a nice Halloween. I wandered over to a few of my friends in the neighborhood to show off my costume and watched a horror movie in the evening. We had some heavy rain and wind, but thankfully it held off until I was inside. There's no official pictures yet, since I haven't had time to meet up with my friend, but hopefully I'll get them this month.

N Tropy the Carpenter. I like it. Also, that was a clever idea that you had. I wonder how much time it took to construct the overall costume as well.

The helmet looks good too.

Ha, I hadn't thought of it like that Thank you! I like using stuff on hand to pull off my costumes, although this year I experimented with using foam for the construction of my costume (hopefully I'll remember to post pictures. I'm typically only active on Tumblr under the same username). The main part of the helmet was a large jar that I spray painted. The accessories were made from felt and cardboard. I think the small tuning fork on top was a paper towel roll I cut up. As for time, I"m not sure the exact number of hours. I typically work on a costume throughout the year. I'd estimate it took a good 20 - 25 hours of work and maybe 1 - 2 hours of planning.

It's cool that you come here since I don't have an active Tumblr account. It might have gotten disabled or deleted since there wasn't any real activity on my page.

Meh.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

Should N Tropy return for another Hallows Eve to scare a few buggers that want some candy and you run out of makeup, Ben Nye makes a nice assortment of eye shadow powder that makes for some good makeup. You'll have to experiment with it, but it's worth the $$.

You're welcome!Β I try to reply to most messages, although sometimes it can take a while since I'm not on every day. I'm hoping to take official Halloween pictures this weekend (my friend has a nice camera and has volunteered to help) and I'll make sure to post them eventually. I do have a folder of artwork to post here, but I'm lazy.

Thank you for the information on Ben Nye! I'm not sure if or when I'll bring N. Tropy back, but I do have another character in mind for a future costume where I'll need blue makeup.Β

I don't know how you made the tune-fork, but it looks rad.

Thanks! It's mostly made out of pine wood (I don't go to cons, so I can make the weapons/accessories out of whatever I have on hand). The bottom half and the thin part of the handle is just one piece of wood which I cut with a jigsaw. The two prongs are sandwiched between two pieces of wood which I nailed together to keep them in place (and that part is nailed to the handle. I wrapped it all in masking tape, to hide the wood grain, and then painted it silver.
