This is Tobu! Kayoko-chan's adorable OC.This was .... a lot of work. XD I must have finished up with about 20 different layers!! But in any case, I am really pleased with how it turned out, and I hope Kayoko-chan is too! The cherry blossoms look a bit out of place and her fingers look like claws, but overall ... Yeah, I'm really pleased.
The design on the kimono especially looks nice.Tobu belongs to Kayoko-chan and Kayoko-chan only.

I tried colouring with a different brush for the most of the background, which is probably why I like it so much. And never underestimate the colour purple! XD

Pretty! I love the paint-like feel to the cherry blossoms! I feel like the bottom of the kimono looks a bit flat, though. Maybe more shadows'll help? I also think the perspective of the double doors in the background are a bit off, although that might be the lack of shading. >_o I adore the flower in her hair and her hair itself. xD Great job on the pattern on the kimono too! :'D

Oh you like the cherry blossoms? I really thought that they stuck out a little, because the shading style is different compared to the rest of the picture.
You're right, though. I think I maybe should have rounded the edge of the kimono too, so it looks a bit more round.
Again you make a good point... >_< Blleeegghh, I knew I should have trusted my instincts... In the original sketch I made the doors were slightly diagonal.. ERRGGGH, that irratates me now! DX

Hm...they do kinda stick out, but I think I liked the style of the blossoms themselves too much to notice it right away. xD I think more shading at the kimono's edge would've helped too.

I LOVE the way the cherry blossoms turned out! Soooo pretty. *___* And as always, I worship your use of reflective light~ Like how the shadows are purple tone and such. Amazingggg.
And you're right!! The kimono turned out really great!! I've always wanted to try doing patterns before, but your turned out really awesome!

I think the key to patterns is (*cough* copy and paste *cough*) the shading. The pattern really begins to blend in with the cloth when the shading is put in.
And usually I try to be so neat... But ... but!! The layers kept coming! LIKE AN ONSLAUGHT OF ZOMBIES. >__<

OOH! Zombie is so fun! It's a board game where basically the objective is to compete with your friends and either reach the hellipad or defeat 25 zombies. Each turn you draw a square that represents intersection of the cit and you get to place zombies on it depending on your dice roll. It's so nifty! Definitely check it out sometime!!
Yup yup. One for gaia, and one for deviant art, plus all these random things that I manage to pull up along the way- like wiki entries, google images, email, and manga.
