For starters, I do play the piano so my love for this piece may be a tad biased (oops!) but man, I do love myself a nice photo of an ancient piano! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h… " width="15" height="13" alt="" title="Heart"/> I see the small scratches and the way some keys are auto-dented down...such clarity! The perspective is also great and the composition is very full, with no "boring" or empty spots in it at all e.deviantart.net/emoticons/d/d… " width="29" height="21" alt="" title="Dance!"/>

A few suggestions on how to improve this piece:

¤ 1) Cropping of the picture: I think that the way this pic right now, there's a little too much of the piano keys. Don't get me wrong, I understand that they are the theme of this piece, but perhaps you could let the frame bigger by just a small tad (also makes that little edge line on the left less distracting)

¤ 2) Impact/Center of the piece: Other than just having the piano keys as the center, perhaps you could consider adding something that'll make the audience's eyes zone right in when they take a glance at this piece. This could be a hand, maybe two (an old and a young?), a flower, a pocketwatch...etc, but just SOMETHING that'll help with the impact of this piece that might also relate to/not distract from the theme.

In general, I still love this piece. Although it lost a few points in originality since there are so many pieces similar to this, it's still nice to be able to see one that's taken with such great lighting and perspective. Hello there! I;m here for 's Feedback week! It's almost over and I'm very excited to critique you work before it ends!

Firstly, lovely picture, it truly is. The piano does carry a very old, archaic feel and it really affects the atmosphere of the picture. I also really like the lightning, it's so soft and really adds to the gently used quality of the piano itself. I also like the focus and how it's so sharp yet so blurred near the edges. Wonderful photo.
However, there are a couple thing I would suggest. My biggest pickle with this picture is the cliche. I've seen countless piano photos, many focused on the keys just like this on is. An old piano is a beautiful subject and though this photo of it is very well done, it's only being pushed into the category of the thousands of other just like it. What I suggest is to challenge yourself. Don't be afraid to experiment with your photos. You have a lovely muse here, take advantage of that! try different angles, add something to the photo, take something away, change the lighting. Do something you've never done before! Take the shot from the top of the piano, the very front of the keys. Make the lightning bright against the dark, just try something. You've got remarkable talent with the cameras, that much is obvious. You have an eye for detail, you captured beautiful textures and lightning in this piece so don't let it get washed away just because of the amount of times it's been done by others. You are completely capable of reinventing the invented, that much is clear. So don't be afraid to get out there and do so!
Other than the cliche comment, there isn't all that much entirely wrong. I would suggest cropping in the picture more so that the edge of the piano on the left side is right at the edge of the photo. That way, the only end to the piano keys is the darkness at the end of the piano, creating a much more interesting illusion.
Overall, you've got an amazing piece here with a lot of potential. Challenge yourself and the rules you follow to really find something you haven't found before. Find that shot you haven't thought to take, find that lighting that hasn't drifted onto the object before. Find the thing that makes your photo different than any other photo. Find the thing that make it YOUR photo. You've got talent, so don't be afraid to use it.

This is a really intriguing photo. It's the kind that you'd expect to find on the walls of some music school, perhaps. Or maybe just someone's wall. Basically, it's wall worthy!

The lighting on this piano is absolutely fantastic! You achieved a nice, low depth of field that adds a kind of dusty effect on top of the old, haunted sort of antique-y lighting. Awesome work there.

The colors of the piano happen to be a little washed out from a bit of bright lighting, but that also really adds to the effect!

There's only one thing that bothers me about this photo, and it's that I've seen it before. While I admit that you did this shot quite well, it's very much a classic shot to take, angle included. Yours is a slightly different twist on this, but only really in the lighting. I would advise you to try taking pictures from angles you haven't seen used before; there are many different ways to capture one object. You don't need to use the cliche'd one.

But! I'd say that shouldn't be a problem for you, because it looks like you've got the technique down pat! Keep up your work, but try something different, for a change!

me again - for Feedback Frenzy for team 40 - this is a pretty cool picture, the play of light on the keys gives a nice depth to the piece - the only area for improvement is the crop/composition - the line at the edge on the left - is a bit distracting to me, cropping a little closer so that the edge of the piano is the edge of the photo - and the little logo or label that is over the hinge could be cropped away as well - It does seem that the hinge is the focus point and perhaps the center key could be a little sharper more so than the hinge. The reflection of the keys in the wood strip across the gives an interesting depth to the piece - Looking at your gallery, you have a good eye for detail and composition and with a little work your pieces will be flawless. Great job!
