Beautiful work on this.
Blue is an excellent base color for this ship.

Do you use acrylic paints or enamel paints? I started painting recently and used enamel, but found quite a challenge to get a consistent coat despite painting the model over twice.
How about paneling?

I have used many different brands of Acrylic paint for minis and models, and while my paint jobs were never as good as yours, I think I can say that I can be trusted to say that Vallejo Game Color and Vallejo Model Color are the best Acrylic paints for models and minis.

I use a mix of vallejo paints and GW paints actually. I find the GW metals to be better in general and also the foundations are useful.
But the vallejo's flats are better and so is their black primer.

To be honest, I do still use some GW/Citadel products, but not much of their paint, I use their washes a lot (and my stash of their original inks). Citadel changes their paint formula to much, by the time I need to buy new paint, they have a whole new product line (just like they do with their games) and I don't want to have to re-learn how to use them.

Ah, so the color variations are kind of drybrushing then?Β The effect came out very well for a simple technique! =^^=
Did you actually paint in the panel lines or use a coptic?

Snowfyre In reply to tbolt [2014-01-17 11:12:11 +0000 UTC]
well.... the hull is painted using a variant of drybrushing. the panel lines were painted with a fine brush.
that's the most annoying step of painting.

Damn, I want to see a black and red ver of this. Mostly black with red markings would look sick.

At first I was a bit confused about the fact an Eldar craft would support Tau forces. But then I read your background lore, and then it all fits.
Warhammer 40K is just full of surprises, isn't it?

Simple, but highly effective.
Think you could help me come up with a scheme for my tyranids based off of brachydios?

Thanks.
That I donnoe. have no idea what brachydios are.
You can poke about my gallery 40k folder ad you'd find some examples of my own tyranids. they're leviathan though.
