Description Finally, another warhammer 40000 post.

A Scratch built Ork Gargant I built for Apocalypse. (too bad no rulez for them yet. )
DA HUMIE KILLA ( MK II for the full gargant )

What is a ork Gargant?
Warhammer 40000:
Well, Ork Gargants are ork versions of Titans. They are very massive walkers that bristle with overly large weaponry.
This is the smallest of the ork gargants..... in game terms, this thing is supposed to be 4 stories tall.
And they are crewed by an army of orks, meks etc etc..... and an even larger swarm of grots......
And are prone to catching fire.......

Stompas are small gargants.

Leslie: Though currently wondering if it's big enough to be a Gargant or simply a Supa-Stompa..... It's hard to classify ork stuff

The full model itself stands 13 inches tall and can be disassembled into 11 pieces for use as terrain or for storage.
Gargant itself has a total of 4 decks in the body for troop models to be put in. with enough space for even dreads.

Also the lowest layer and the belly gun can be removed (they are attached using magnets) and the feet attached directly to the hull so that the thing can be fielded as a (legal ) stompa.

So yes. This is my First completely scratch-built model. Total cost bout 35 - 40 bucks.... mostly for purchasing pipes and the tiling material.... and magnets.
Majority is made using cardboard.
Some plumbing parts used too. Also quite a few bitz.... and a detachable (optional ) bassie cannon.

Also my first Super-heavy unit.

And I love the TITAN CHAINSAW!!!!
Oh joy of all joys. A strength D weapon...... I.e. one that is so powerful that it doesn't have a strength number and inflicts instant death on whoever is unfortunate enough to be well.........

Though shots were rather hurriedly taken (when packing up my stuff). May eventually re post it in another pic if I get a better shot.
Not exactly satisfied with the focus. Specially cause it was hurriedly taken yesterday before I packed it away.

Unpainted, it looked like this: [link]

Trivia bout me

Well, I donnoe, but oddly enough I seem to build my armies with a very orky mentality. What I find amusing is that it's strikingly similar to how a real ork army amasses.

Down to the point where when the army is getting really really big in preparation for a massive WAAAGH!!! they start constructing Gargants...... shortly after the mekboyz (like me ) start getting funny ideas bout a gargant.

Odd.

________________________________________ ___
Orkspeak

For those of you that have no idea, this is a translation of some of the things you may see on the Gargant:

1) Beekee/ Beakie / Beekie (or similar pronounciation)
= Marine.

2) Humie
= Human

3) Dakka
= More noisy...... also associated with more firepower from shooting.

4) Gork
= Ork God. (one of the two )

5) Mekboyz
= Mechanic (Similar. )

6) Panzee
= Eldar

7) Da
= the

Rest are mostly ork-versions of usual spellings.

Space orks are from Warhammer 40000 From and (C) gamesworkshop.

Yeah, needz even more dakka.
Though well, from forums seems that this is a super-stompa, not a gargant. too small it seems

hehe, a friend of mine in the last apocalypse game used a gargant, he used 3 Stompas to do it, every single one of us (we we're six players) were like "What in freaking hell is that.", and in that day the Eldar, Dark Eldar and Imperial Guard, couldn't found a mightyest foe... And their most glorious win lol

Snowfyre In reply to Khazgor [2009-07-30 23:37:17 +0000 UTC]

Unfortunately there's no official gargant rules yet -__- else I'd be quite happy to make one of those super-monstrosities.
Stompas aren't THAT powerful. They're just big.

Khazgor In reply to Snowfyre [2009-07-31 13:51:54 +0000 UTC]

Yeah the problem is... He made the rules for the gargant rofl, and placed enough dakka on it to put a Reaver Titan to shame... The only problem for us in that game we're the rolls... have you ever saw a guy roll fifteen 1's?? I guess Lord Tzeentch was agains't us that day xD

Unfortunately no.
Base model is hard to find. also it's difficult to store and bring about. A second gargant may be good though.

haku112 In reply to Snowfyre [2009-07-22 11:50:28 +0000 UTC]

mmmh, speaking of gargants there is a legend about a ork in the Deathskull clan that was so skilled in stealing a "rebuilding" enemy vehicles on sight that he choud steal an enemyΒ΄s titan and turn it against its former masters.
The deathskulls find it very amusing to see the enemyΒ΄s vehicles against turning against them.

Depending on which version of the Orkz you like best, Gargants should be green, as they were originally thought of as giant idols of Gork 'N Mork. Also, even though "da red wunz goes fasta!" it makes more sense for Gargants to plod, so I dunno.

Nice one though. How'd you get started with orkz, anyway? I've been looking, and the only starter I can find is the battle of Macragge and that's Space Marines and Tyranids, neither of which I like. Furthermore I don't feel like trading the 'Nids to someone for Orkz.

Snowfyre In reply to MechaFurre [2008-01-30 23:18:18 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm
well, there's one of them "Move Fasta Gargants" of the Evil sunz..... though ain't seem to move significantly fasta than the others.
Still they love to paint it red.

Though Gargants appear to plod, they actually move fast due to their giant strides.

Get started wif da boyz? Well, first step is to look at the models line. Visiting gamesworkshop website ( [link] ) and looking at the 40K section will give you an idea of all the races.

If you are dead interested in one, try buying the codex to read more.

If you are set well..... there's two methods of approach depending on your take on the hobby, but that be for later.
Have fun.

I've looked already. I've read as much as I can on the Orkz for free, and just today joined The-Waaagh.com to get more info. I even hopped on Ebay, and found someone selling a buncha blister pakked classic metal Orkz and Waaagh Da Orkz for 150.00. I'd get it but money I ain't got. I got 80 bux right now and that'd deplete my savings.

Hmmmm
Ah, the cash-strapped, just like me.
Well, the paints alone will cause a bomb. the minimum for orks ( to look decent ) is goblin green, green ink, black, boltgun metal, brown ink, snakebite leather.

well, your best hope now is either a lucky break in E bay or to somehow find someone selling them.
For me, well, mine was accumulated over a long long time.
